KYPCK (Volapuk rendition from rus. Курск) is a Finnish doom metal band formed in 2007. Band members are guitarist Sami Lopakka (Sentenced, Northern Tribe), drummer/producer Hiili Hiilesmaa, vocalist Erkki Seppänen (Tuiran Miliisi, Dreamtale), and Jaakko Ylä-Rautio on the bass guitar (The Skreppers).
They call themselves “Fast Russian Doom Metal From Finland”. Vocalist Erkki Seppänen speaks fluentRussian and has worked in the embassy in Moscow. Their debut album "Черно" (Cherno) was released on March 12 2008 (in Finland) as jewelbox and digipack versions. There will be cyrillicRussian lyrics and English translations in the booklet of the album. Transliterated sing-along versions of the lyrics will be released in March 2008 exclusively at KYPCK Ground Zero.
