HeavyHardMetalmania: Steel dragon

Steel Dragon é o nome de uma banda de Hard Rock fictícia, que empregou músicos reais, e que foi criada para actuar no filme Rock Star(2001) da Warner Bros., sendo responsável também pela trilha sonora original do filme.

História

A história do filme é baseada num curioso incidente que aconteceu com a banda Judas Priest; seu vocalista original Rob Halford foi substituído por um fã, Tim 'Ripper' Owens ex-vocalista de uma banda tributo ao Judas Priest chamada British Steel, que acabou influenciando no nome Steel Dragon. A formação da banda incluiu quatro músicos talentosos e atores que interpretaram vocalistas mas que foram dublados por Jeff Scott Soto (Talisman, Yngwie J. Malmsteen) e Michael Matijevic durante suas perfórmances. Porém, houve outros músicos que deram suas contribuições para ajudar a compor e gravar as músicas.

Steel Dragon is the name of a fictitious heavy metal band featuring real musicians, created to appear in the Warner Bros. movie Rock Star(2001), inclusively being responsible for the movie's original soundtrack. The members, especially the lead singers, had an over the top look and attitude similar to those seen in some famous heavy metal bands of the '80s.

Formation

The band's formation on-screen included the talents of four musicians and had actors playing the role of the lead singers, who actually were dubbed by vocalists Jeff Scott Soto (Talisman, Yngwie Malmsteen's Rising Force, Journey) and Michael Matijevic during their performances, except for Myles Kennedy, who did the actual singing himself during his brief scene during the movie.

Also, there were other additional musicians who gave their contribution to help in the process of composing and performing the songs, as listed below:
