Diary About My Nightmares (D.A.M.N.) released their first CD, „Das Vermächtnis“, back in 2006, which subsequently sent the Braunschweig based band on a European tour of Germany, The Netherlands, Austria, Belgium, Denmark, Austria etc. to spread their gospels of doom. Fast, aggressive riffing, melodic harmonies and a heavily grooved undertone sets the band on a different level to the traditional Death Metal scene, pushing them to the pinnacle of the genre. Fronted by a female shouter/growler, Diary About My Nightmares guides you to an angry, pitiless world that will mark your soul and stain your dreams. Reviews from such Metal magazines as Rock Hard, Legacy, Metal Inside etc. have reinforced that. At the end of 2008 the band recorded their second long player „Forbidden Anger“ with Jakob Batten (Illdisposed) and Ziggy (Illdisposed, Behemoth, As We Fight, Mercernary etc.) at Zigsound in Denmark. „Forbidden Anger“ will be released by Unexploded Records from Sweden. With their new record „Forbidden Anger“ they will satisfy their Old Guard of followers and bring in the new blood as it carries on the crusade of punishment that is Diary About My Nightmares. Straight after the recordings at the begining of 2009 Diary About My Nightmares visited a lot of new (like Romania and Bulgaria) and old places, again to spread their desease. Diary About My Nightmares will be coming to your place, to corrupt your body, rot your mind and tear your soul apart. So get infected and be sure to see Diary About My Nightmares.

I found out about D.A.M.N. while trolling around on Youtube a few months ago looking for something else. Their video was a performance at some outdoor festival. Obviously the camera was focused on singer/front-woman Antonie. But it was their overall sound which caught my attention the most because it was very extreme. I'll admit, with the exception of Angela Gossow of ARCH ENEMY, the few women fronting Death Metal bands over the past few years have not been high on my opinion meter. I see it more like exploitation by the record labels seeking eye candy than raw talent. Some average sounding band places an easy on the eyes woman up front on the mike and suddenly they're playing Ozzfest or something else ridiculous. But musically they're talentless hacks. With D.A.M.N. it's the opposite. This German five piece has all the right ingredients for quality Death Metal without the commercialized cliche-ness. Sound-wise they're powerful, brutal and melodic all in one package. Each band member compliments the other to create this vicious weapon of Metal. As of this writing the band is finishing work on their next release which should be out by spring 2009. We're looking forward to that one.Scumfeast Metal predicts that release will be on alot of people's best of 09 lists. Also D.A.M.N. will remind us that when it comes to Extreme Metal it's all about the music and the passion of the musicians performing it.
