Island was formed in 2003. In the first six months
the band has written and recorded two EPs, which
have been re-released as one album by Vendlus
Records in 2006, entitled Orakel . From 2004
until 2006 Island worked on their 2nd self-titled
album, which was finally released on 22 February
2010. The musical style differs from the first
recording - where once atmospheric death metal
reigned, there is now more space for mellow parts
beyond the metal genre. In the meantime the band
is already working on their 3rd record, a
concept-album about dreams
All songs written and recorded by Christian Kolf
and Florian Toyka, summer 2004 - autumn 2006
Drums by Rafael Calman. Brass by Clemens Toyka
Double-bass by Jan Buckard. Mixed by Armin Rave
and Island, winter 2006. Mastered by Tom Kv lsvoll
at Strype Audio, Oslo, summer 2008
