THY ANTICHRIST was founded in august 1998 in Medellin-Antioquia. At the beginning it was an Andres Vargas solo project, but then entered Ruben Restrepo, a friend, guitarist and composer whom recorded the fisrt songs between 1999 -2000, songs which stayed unpublished till 2005.

Initially, the project was called " El Anticristo", based upon the Friedrich Nietzche book "The Antichrist", but for commercial and international reasons the name was changed for : THY ANTICHRIST".

Andrés Vargas (Antichrist 666) is the founder member and lead singer of the band, musical director , loyal representative, and composer of all the lyrics.

By 2002, entered the band Hector Jaime Gomez (Xekthor), guitarist and composer and Diego Lopez who left the band by august 2004.

By 2002 was signed the first production under the colombian label "Tribulacion Productions" in which was edited the first album "Possessed by my own Satan". The recording was made in "Studios El Pez " Medellin, one the best recording studios in Colombia.

After succedding with this first album and ater having an good comments from the critics, a new production was signed with "Tribulacion Productions" to create a new album with the name "WICKED TESTIMONIES", which was also a great hit.

By the year 2004, the band signed with the French label "Legion of Death Records" for just one exclusive song for an historic compilation never done before, in which participated south American black metal bands from countries just like Argentina, Chile, Bolivia, Ecuador, Perú, Venezuela, El Salvador and Colombia, being "THY ANTICHRIST" the only band from Colombia.

THY ANTICHRIST plays a Tragic Existentialist Black Metal, where dogmas and religions that have enslaved mankind under the mythic shapes of gods are disdained. THY ANTICHRIST represents the first consciousness of man as his own God or Satan "Ad libitum"

THY ANTICHRIST writes with withered blood the "WICKED TESTIMONIES" over the pages of hate, affliction and horror of book of human destiny. Terrible and prophetic voices predict the Kingdom of chaos, over this land of mythic hell, where angels or demons incarnated in human bodies die in blood tears and warlike fire, when dead gods just like ancient stars have extinguished forever with their ficticious bright.

Mythical hell of THY ANTICHRIST is into the existence of our own mankind. Voice and music of THY ANTICHRIST is voice of anguish and human suffering, is the bitter voice of Nietszche, Baudelaire, Rimbaud, Verlain, Poe, Cioran, Hesse, Camus, Hector Escobar and the inspiration of other existentialist writers that talk to mankind with the cruel reality. We are the voice of millions of people that fade in pain by the unstoppable running of time and its chaos. THY ANTICHRIST is the hammer that breaks the ficticious illusion of the dogmatic religious system and its commercial machinery and burocratic of a spiritual cheat.

“THY ANTICHRIST” se formó en agosto de 1998 en Medellín -Antioquia- Colombia. Inicialmente era un proyecto en solitario de Andrés Vargas, pero luego se integró Rubén Restrepo, un cercano amigo, guitarrista y compositor; con quien se grabaron las tres primeras canciones de la banda entre 1999 y 2000, canciones que permanecieron inéditas hasta su publicación en el año 2005.

El proyecto inicialmente se denominó “El Anticristo”, título en español tomado del libro “The Antichrist” de Frederick Nietzshe, pero por motivos comerciales fuera de Colombia, principalmente en Europa y Estados Unidos, se decidió cambiar el nombre por “THY ANTICHRIST”.

Andrés Vargas (Antichrist 666) es el fundador de la banda, quien es el vocalista, director musical, representante legal y compositor de las letras de las canciones.

Para el año 2002, se integraron a la banda Héctor Jaime Gómez (Xekthor), guitarrista y compositor, y Diego López, baterista, quien dejó la banda en agosto de 2004.

En el 2002 se firmó la primera producción de la banda con la disquera Tribulacion Productions de Medellín, Colombia, en la cual se editó el trabajo debut “Possessed by my own Satan”, grabación que se realizó en los estudios El Pez de Medellín, Colombia, que es reconocido como uno de los mejores estudios de grabación y sonido de Colombia.

Luego del éxito de este primer CD, y de tener una excelente respuesta por parte de la crítica especializada en el tema, se firmó nuevamente con Tribulacion Productions, para producir un nuevo trabajo discográfico titulado “Wicked Testimonies”; el cual se convirtió muy pronto en un éxito.

También en el año 2004 se firmó con la disquera francesa Legion Of Death Records, para grabar una canción exclusiva de “THY ANTICHRIST”, la cual hace parte de una histórica recopilación nunca antes realizada, en la que participaron diferentes grupos suramericanos del género musical Black Metal. Participaron bandas de países como Argentina, Chile, Bolivia, Ecuador, Perú, Venezuela, El Salvador y Colombia, siendo “THY ANTICHRIST” la única banda representante de Colombia.

THY ANTICHRIST ejecuta un Tràgico Black Metal Existencialista dònde se desdeñan los risibles sistemas dogmàticos o religiosos que han esclavizado al hombre bajo las estòlidas formas mìticas de los dioses. THY ANTICHRIST representa la primigenia conciencia del hombre como su propio Dios o Satan "Ad Libitum".

THY ANTICHRIST escribe con sangre marchita los "Testimonios Malditos" sobre las paginas del odio, la afliccion y el horror del cruel libro del tedioso destino humano. Terribles y profeticas voces vaticinan el sempiterno reino del Caos, sobre esta la tierra del mìtico Infierno, donde angeles o demonios encarnados en cuerpos humanos mueren en làgrimas de sangre y en fuego bèlico, cuando los dioses muertos como viejas estrellas se han extinguido para siempre con su brillo ficticio.

El infierno mìtico de THY ANTICHRIST està encerrado en la existencia de nuestra propia humanidad. La voz y la música de THY ANTICHRIST, es la voz de la angustia y de la opresión del sufrimiento humano, es la amarga voz de Nietszche, Baudelaire, Rimbaud, Verlain, Poe, Cioran, Hesse, Camus, Hector Escobar y la inspiración de otros existencialistas escritores, que le hablan con la cruel realidad a la humanidad. Somos la voz de millones de seres humanos que nos desvanecemos en dolor por el imparable paso del tiempo y su actual caos. THY ANTICHRIST es el martillo que quiebra la ficticia ilusión del sistema dogmàtico religioso, y su aparato comercial y burocrático de un engaño espiritual.
