Canned Heat - On The Road Again
In 1965, the blues- and boogie-rock band Canned Heat was formed in Los Angeles by guitar and harmonica player Alan "Blind Owl" Wilson and lead singer Bob "The Bear" Hite. They took the name for the band from an old delta blues song called Canned Heat Blues written by Tommy Johnson in 1928. The worldwide hit On The Road Again is best known for Wilsons unique high-pitched vocals and famous for its harmonica solo. Beside playing at all major festivals of the 60s Woodstock, Monterey Pop, Isle of Wight the band also travelled to Europe for concerts and TV appearances, e.g. the German Beat Club, where they performed the song in a lip-synched version. Tragically, on September 3, 1970 Alan Wilson died of a barbiturate overdose which led to numerous line-up changes in the following years. But the band still plays on today in the fifth decade of their existence.

Willie Nelson (born April 30th 1933) is an American country singer-songwriter. He reached his greatest fame during the 70s, but is still going strong and continues to tour and perform. Originally signed as a songwriter in 1960, many of his compositions became huge hits for the country and pop music stars of the time. It was only when he moved to RCA Victor Records in 1965 that his solo career really took off, and he had a number of chart hits throughout the late 60s and early 70s. This laid the groundwork for his phenomenally successful work with Columbia Records in the 70s. Given complete control over his work, he released a series of critically and commercially successful records, 3 of which went platinum.
Willie Nelson - On The Road Again
(From "Outlaws and Angels" DVD)
Outlaws And Angels is a very special celebration of the music of Willie Nelson. It is a concert recorded at the Wiltern Theatre in Los Angeles earlier this year and broadcast on US television in May. It follows on from the Stars And Guitars and Live And Kickin concerts of 2002 and 2003 but is the first to be released on DVD.
Hosted by actor James Caan, it features inspired performances of many of his best known tracks, such as Shotgun Willie, Midnight Rider, Pancho And Lefty and On The Road Again, with a truly extraordinary line up of guest artists including Joe Walsh, Merle Haggard, Bob Dylan, Kid Rock, Shelby Lynne, Carole King, Rickie Lee Jones, Keith Richards and Jerry Lee Lewis among many others.
As a bonus feature there is a substantial Behind The Scenes piece, which includes footage not included in the broadcast version.
