Additional notes
Formerly known as Dolmen (USA), which evolved via Azathoth, Eternus and Necrotic into Absu in 1990. Calling themselves "Mythological Occult Metal, "Absu" in Sumerian mythology refers to a subterranean ocean. The band draws on both Sumerian and Celtic mythology, supervised by Proscriptor.
With 'Tara' the band completed a trilogy in which the first part is 'The Third Storm of Cythraul' and part two being 'In the Eyes of Ioldanach'. It is based on old Celtic mythology. First trilogy (from 'Barathrum' to 'Tiphareth') is about Sumerians. Local fellowship led the band to record two Morbid Scream cover versions on their 2nd and 3rd LP, namely "The Coming of War" and "Morbid Scream" respectively. Also recorded 'Hallstattian Swords' 7" which remained unreleased until 'Mythological...'
