HeavyHardMetalmania: NECROMANTEION - RAW, BRUTAL, SOUTH AFRICAN BLACK METAL!

When Necromanteion was formed, the objective was to create black metal in a truer form than that was present in South Africa at the time. The very first material was quite directionless, had less-than admirable influences and generally very little musical integrity.

The Gateway EP was completed on the 1st of January 2010 and released through Pure Black Heart Productions in May 2010. Around that time, Necromanteion started playing live shows around Jhb and Pta but this was short lived due to Murder’s departure.

Necromanteion remained stagnant for a period of three months trying to find the right members. Draugar Hellstorm joined on bass as well as Kunt Kriegsgott on guitars shortly after. The addition of the new members solidified the line-up bringing Necromanteion to write much more solid and aggressive material.

Siff left the band due to personal reasons and logistics. Jesus Hitler replaced Siff’s position as the front man to fill in for a live show that would have been cancelled had he not helped out. Jesus Hitler put on a performance second to none and was confirmed as Necromanteions permanent vocalist.

Two weeks after the show, Raven departed due to musical differences as Necromanteion had changed its sound quite substantially with the new members and their musical influences, interests and ideas.

Necromanteion has found a new member to replace Raven’s position in the mean-time who will be announced at a later stage.
