SCAR SYMMETRY
When their debut “Symmetric In Design” popped up all of a sudden back in 2005, metalheads knew there’s something really big on the horizon. SCAR SYMMETRY managed to melt so many different styles together – Swedish melodic death metal with deepest growls, brilliant clean vocals, huge refrains, massive shredding, astonishing melodies and impressive soloing with a progressive approach to all of it without losing any kind of catchiness. When signing to Nuclear Blast and releasing their much anticipated new record “Pitch Black Progress” in 2006, the band had evolved so much and reached higher spheres – in the media as well as in the metal community. From then on everyone was convinced SCAR SYMMETRY is more than just another metal band, SCAR SYMMETRY are gods in what they do! See for yoursel f at METALFEST 2011!
BORN OF OSIRIS (Austria only!)
Born of Osiris is a progressive death/metalcore band from Chicago, Illinois. The band was formed in 2003, releasing several demos and going through various name changes over the next few years (most notably as Rosecrance). In 2007, under the name Born Of Osiris, they signed to Sumerian Records and finished recording their first full-length album entitled The New Reign which was released on October 2, 2007. They have toured alongside artists such as Beneath the Massacre, As Blood Runs Black, Winds of Plague, See You Next Tuesday, The Tony Danza Tapdance Extravaganza and Veil of Maya. Prepare for a furious thunderstorm of deathcore, live at METALFEST 2011!
PURIFY (Germany only!)
At the end of the second century, nobody really g ave a f*ck about Thrash Metal anymore. But those two Deadspawn-members Guido (guitar) and Dave (drums) didn´t really care about that fact, cause old heroes such as Exodus, Overkill or Forbidden were still very important to them and that´s why they founded the band Purify. It´s all about the Hardcore credo do-it-yourself, especially when it comes to the length of their songs. No bullshit, no compromises! Fast, heavy and to the point! No solos, breakdowns or some other crap… And when they hit the stage, there´s no tomorrow! Pure fuckin´ Thrash Metal from Mainz/Germany!
