On Wednesday, April 13, Oprah Winfrey on her show brought together singers from different eras and styles, in honor of the girls who shook the rock world in the '70s and '80s, like Stevie Nicks, Pat Benatar, Sheryl Crow and Joan Jett.
Joan Jett did a performance alongside the young Miley Cyrus (ex Hannah Montana), sharing it with a medley of some of her greatest classics, "Bad Reputation, " "Cherry Bomb" and "I Hate Myself For Loving You. "
The hymn "I Love Rock N 'Roll" hasn´t been played, Allan Merril, author of this song recently said that he prefers to hear Miley play it.
"I Love Rock'n'Roll" Miley Cyrus better than Joan Jett?
It seems that Joan was unmoved by the statements by Merrill, so she hosted miley on her stage.
Check out the medley done by Joan and Miley, accompanied of course by the traditional Joan backing band, The Blackhearts.

You've got it wrong. The original singer of the first version (and songwriter) of the song "I love rock n roll" Alan Merrill said in a German interview in 2010 that his favorite RECENT cover of the song was by Miley Cyrus. Not that his favorite all time cover of the Arrows song from 1975 was by Miley. He actually said he "likes all the covers because they make him money" - quote- in that same interview.
