After self-releasing a promising debut album in the summer of 2010, Ov Hollowness returns with a sophomore album one year later entitled 'Drawn to Descend' which will mark the debut of Ov Hollowness on Hypnotic Dirge Records. Building upon the foundations of the 'Diminished' album, 'Drawn to Descend' is an album which uses relative simplicity to deliver a very catchy, fairly straight forward album with strong use of eerie guitar solos, effective drumming, catchy melodies, and thrashy riffs which all combine to make a solid black metal album which is free of gimmicks. While having some similarities to older black metal classics, you can tell that this is not a regurgitation of classic bands, but rather a combination of the simplicity of older black metal with an altogether modern sound. With Drawn to Descend, Ov Hollowness has succeeded in creating an album filled with atmosphere that will please the nostalgic folks while still being effective in conveying that this is a modern release. This album comes released in a 12 page booklet in a standard jewel case.
