Steel Threads are only young as far as the music industry in concerned, but the three guys; Neil, Cliff and Stuart have a wealth of experience and knowledge of performing, recording and crewing for names like The South (Former Beautiful South), Hugh Cornwell (The Stranglers), New Model Army, Hayseed Dixie, Ricky Warwick, and Imelda May among others.
Formed in 2011 (but 15 years in the making) , just before SOS Festival (held at the Radcliffe Civic Hall, Bury in Manchester), the guys had worked with each other for over a decade and a half but had never been in the same band with each other.
With sounds that are reminiscent of The Waterboys and The Levellers; Steel Threads have a unique sound and would put themselves into a new genre of ‘Power Folk’ which critics have taken a strong liking to!
The band are due to embark on a tour of real ale pubs and have named the tour the “Proper Boozer” tour, confirmation of the full gig listings will follow shortly.
