She is Schoolcraft a solo artist from Canada who found her life in music and her music in life. Since an early age she gave her passion to many rock bands but only now with passion and heart together and with the help of Daedalus (Daedalean complex) in additional symphonic compositions, Kitty Thompson (Johnny Hollow) in the cello and Scott Brindley in the drums and percussion her creativity and angelic voice earned wings and rushed through the skies in hope do heal and inspire with beautiful musical orchestras.
The seven track EP “Rushing Through the Sky” is “dark, beautiful, elegant, humble and smart” by Schoolcraft’s words and was released September 25th and marked a change in her life, she was able to confront her demons and found a “Home” in Schoolcraft, her shelter in which each song represents a new chapter of battles fought. This is a very dramatic and sentimental work with the fantasy flourish of the Symphonic metal and gothic but leaning to the element of the ballads without the heavy sound or the distortion, instead it´s very romantic and sad with beautiful piano melodies, light drums but strong enough to pull out the dark side of the lyrics, a intense crying cello and invigorating Celtic harp that brings a felling of hope, of light in all the darkness, and is able to make you shed a tear if you really feel the pain she sings.
She honed her sound and perfected her skills from her years at the Royal Conservatory of music (Toronto), where she received classical training in voice and piano. Bands and solos such as Evanescence, Ben Moody, Within Temptation, Nightwish, Katatonia, Apocalyptica, Him, Dimmu Borgir, Portishead, Bjork, We Are The Fallen and much more are the vast arsenal of tastes and inspiration for her work, writing and recording process.
“Rushing Through The Sky” is just an introduction to the many works she wants to give us and plans to release over the years. If her first work as a solo artist is just an introduction I can`t wait to hear more from her. Her writing and singing is truly a purification of soul and mind.
