Sludge/Thrash Metal Trio SERPENT CROWN Release Debut; Announce Live Dates

Female-fronted power trio SERPENT CROWN has released their self-titled debut through Horror Pain Gore Death Productions.

Skilled guitarist and spectral vocalist Dara Santhai leads the charge on this self-titled debut album which features drummer Will Carroll of Thrash Metal veterans Death Angel blasting behind the kit. Undertones of 80's thrash metal, hardcore and heavy atmospheric rock are prevalent and compliment the rocking yet haunting aural landscape. Serpent Crown is an unearthly journey to the dark side with songs of the apocalypse, ruminations of death and destruction. Stream and purchase Serpent Crown at serpentcrown.bandcamp.com.

In 2008, singer/guitarist Dara Santhai and drummer Will Carroll joined forces to create Serpent Crown. Drawing from a variety of metal subgenres, particularly European and American thrash, the pair smelted aggressive, ultra-heavy, riff-driven music in the best Bay Area tradition. Dara combines a background in the fine arts with stints fronting metal outfits Ravana and Santhai. Will is a drum veteran, with experience in Old Grandad, Cutthroats 9, Scarecrow, Vicious Rumors, and Machine Head. Serpent Crown's first demo was recorded in 2009 by Black Cobra drummer Rafa Martinez, who also played bass on the recording. The band has since added bassist Dave Dinsmore, formerly of Bl'ast, LAB, Che, and Unida. In 2012, Carroll left due to commitments as the touring drummer for Bay Area thrash legends Death Angel. Upcoming Serpent Crown shows will have Mike Jochimsen (Apocryphon) on the drums for select dates.
