ARMED FOR APOCALYPSE: September Live Takeover Announced

California metal technicians, ARMED FOR APOCALYPSE, will bring their rage to the stage next month on along overdue run of live takeovers! Set to commence in Chico, California on September 10th, the Oceans To Summits Tour will pillage its way through seventeen cities, with additional shows to be announced in the coming weeks. The band will be joined by Iconocaust on select dates.

Elaborates drummer Nick Harris of the upcoming run: "We are straight up pumped to get back on the road! This new record is long overdue and touring on is even more overdue. We have so much to prove as a band! There's not just a chip on our shoulders; there's a giant cavity of pissed off emotions ready to snap at any moment. We are going to go out every single night and put it all on the line! If there is only the staff and the bands watching us, or if the show is sold out, we don't care! Every show is being played like it is our last chance of making our rock 'n' roll dreams come true. This tour is the first of many tours and the first of many large middle fingers to all of you that doubt ARMED FOR APOCALYPSE! We are on a mission and the mission starts in Chico September 10th! See you on the road!"

ARMED FOR APOCALYPSE will be touring in support of their The Road Will End full-length, released via Ironclad Recordings earlier this Summer. Featuring ten tracks of slow-building, maniacal, sludge-laden urgency, The Road Will End is a complex study in heaviness. In a perfect five K review, Kerrang crowns The Road Will End, "the thickest, most punishingly-heavy aural savagery your ears will fall victim to in 2013," About.com agrees: "Aggression is off the charts. Great guitar work in the latter portions of the album. Heavy as hell, yet bolstered by a groove-infused vibe," while The Sludgelord proclaims the record, "possibly the outright most aggressive and just plain overwhelmingly pig-headedly heavy release of the year." Adds Rocknreelreviews.com, "AFA have absolutely outdone themselves on this release."

ARMED FOR APOCALYPSE came from nowhere and nothing. The sludgy four-piece from the small Northern California college town of Chico have worked relentlessly to leave their imprint on metal. Through tours across Europe, around The States and up and down the West Coast, they've continued to spread their name in the best way possible: word of mouth. No triggers, no wanky "shredding," no posturing, no cowardice, no frills. They just play crushing songs that go from slow to slower, from muck to mire, from mosh to circle-pit. And sometimes they'll make a left turn and end up at epic. Simply put, it's rock 'n' roll music tuned way down and pissed way off.
