Terry Chimes was a founder member of The Clash, later playing with Billy Idol, Black Sabbath and many others. In 2003 he was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame.
"After 15 years in the music business he left to pursue a career in alternative medicine. He became a doctor of chiropractic and also an acupuncturist and then developed a chain of chiropractic clinics in Europe before turning his hand to training others in how to be successful. He currently runs Europe’s largest consulting business in alternative medicine."
The Crunch have announced they will play two intimate shows in London and Dublin this December. The all-star power pop rock act, which features Sulo Karlsson (Diamond Dogs), Terry Chimes (The Clash), Mick Geggus (Cockney Rejects) and Dave Tregunna (Sham 69 / Lords of the New Church), will appear at London’s Nambucca on December 12th, before making their Irish debut at The Thomas House in Dublin on December 14th.
The London gig is presented by Vive le Rock magazine, who have praised The Crunch’s debut album ‘Busy Making Noise’ in their latest issue as a “soon-to-be-classic selection of power-pop anthems”. Completing an unmissable bill at Nambucca are special guests The Bermondsey Joyriders, whose incendiary blooze-punk sounds topped Vive le Rock readers’ ‘Album of the Year’ poll in 2012.

The live dates coincide with the release of The Crunch‘s new single ‘A Little Bit of Grace’, which is the third to be taken from ’Busy Making Noise’ on December 9th. A bantering break-up ballad, which traces the fine line between love and hate, the song hears Sulo take on special guest Idde Schultz in a lively vocal duet-cum-duel. Its themes are evocatively reflected in the form, as a chorus full of irresistible harmonies contrasts with the sharp ‘n’ snappy retorts Sulo and Idde trade in the verse, and The Crunch show they can deliver spiky pop hooks as skillfully as they serve up high-octane punk rock.
Finally, December sees the paperback publication of drummer Terry Chimes’ autobiography, ‘The Strange Case of Dr. Terry and Mr. Chimes’. Already made available as an e-book in November via Crux Publishing, the book covers the life of a man who made a successful transition from the original drummer of The Clash (he
left the band in 1977, only to be asked back in 1982) and a succession of punk and heavy metal bands (Generation X, Hanoi Rocks & Black Sabbath), to a chiropractor offering kind words of wisdom and compassion to the sick. Though recently returning to rock ‘n’ roll with The Crunch after several years away, Terry continues to practice as a chiropractor and train others. His stranger-than-fiction life story is the first autobiography to be published by any member of The Clash.
