Grab the torch and head on into mysteries unknown with CULT OF FIRE's मृत्यु का तापसी अनुध्यान

This was my first time listening to Cult of Fire a black metal band coming from Czech Republic, Prague. This type of music is for sure pure black metal resembling the Norwegian sound but with a touch of innovation that gives it distinction.

With loads of bands that exist today the supply almost suppresses demand, there is so much to hear that only the really good ones and those who seek to show creativity can exceed and be on the top. I think that it can only be ordinary, in a good way, for a band to find new ways to cultivate the metal scene and demonstrate at the same time that metal also improves.

This is the case with Cult of Fire. After listening to their new album called Ascetic Meditation of Death I can say that I felt attracted to it as if being pulled by a magnetic field. I can count the number of black metal albums that made my day but this exotic taste of black metal with India influenced music smashed my brains. Ascetic Meditation of Death is an 8 track metal journey through the darkest side of life infused in deep introspective and soothing melodies.

Combinations of raw black metal, sitars, meditation-style and prayers-like choirs as background and melodic environments created by the organ are some of the core contents of this awesome work. The intro (Samhara Raktha Kali), the third song (Shava Sadhana), the fifth song (When Death is All), the seventh song (Khanda Manda Yoga) and the eighth song (Burned by the Flame of Divine Love) are the ones where you can easily hear all the strong points and influences of the band, still the album only works as a whole and every song is well composed.

I find it very difficult for a band as recent as Cult of Fire is to get my attention but the fact is that they did and while listening to their brilliant work I never get bored even for a second and I replayed it so many times that I almost began speaking fluently the language they speak. Not!

The truth is that it´s almost impossible to do something new and good, it is also true that Cult of Fire aren´t in a entirely new category of music but nonetheless and truth be told they do speak a different type of language in the metal scene, they do play a different type of black metal and a fucking good one. For this reason I will be “watching” them close and I can´t wait for more, much more from them.

Ascetic Meditation of Death is one you can´t miss. For me it was one of the best black metal albums of 2013.

One melee with the words, ideas and its paradoxes... albuns that are news, the reviews at "HeavyHardMetalmania.net", always with its watermark,  Pedro Ribeiro, with love for beer... sorry, music from an early age, he studied piano and singing from 7 to 14 years,  then, devoted himself to the study of the guitar for 5 years. "The wisdom is found in the extremes, all extreme Metal here!"
