STEVIE FLOYD Split With AERIAL RUIN Now Available

The eclectic collaboration between AERIAL RUIN, the gloom-trodden solo outfit featuring former Old Grandad/ Drift Of A Curse/Epidemic mastermind Erik Moggridge, and Dark Castle/Taurus guitarist/demoness STEVIE FLOYD, is officially available for human consumption!

An eerily cerebral creation of acoustic solitude and sonic disease, the alliance finds Floyd and Moggridge posing as guest vocalists on select songs off their separate solo recordings with an additional guest appearance from Leviathan/Lurker of Chalice sorcerer Wrest all mastered by James Plotkin (OLD, Scorn Khanate, Khlyst etc). The outcome is a haunting twelve-track audio orgy. At once heavy, spiritual and cathartic, Floyd’s and Moggridge’s otherworldly vocal chants twine into each other in near-sacramental fashion.

The STEVIE FLOYD/AERIAL RUIN self-released split recording is available on vinyl/free download with handmade artwork by Floyd via their official BandCamp Pages at http://www.StevieFloyd.Bandcamp.com andhttp://www.AerialRuin.BandCamp.com.

STEVIE FLOYD: Dark Castle/Taurus Priestess To Release Split With AERIAL RUIN

Dark Castle/Taurus priestess STEVIE FLOYD and AERIAL RUIN, the gloom-trodden solo outfit featuring former Old Grandad/ Drift Of A Curse/Epidemic mastermind Erik Moggridge, recently joined creative forces for an eclectic split release.

A wholly absorbing, folk-centric offering, the collaboration finds Floyd and Moggridge posing as guest vocalists on select songs off their separate solo recordings with an additional guest appearance from Leviathan/Lurker of Chalice sorcerer Wrest. At once moody, atmospheric, and psychologically crushing, the self-released recording delivers twelve decaying hymns that will be available on vinyl/free download with handmade artwork by Floyd via their official BandCamp Pages.

Elaborates Floyd: “This was something very raw and honest for me to record myself in solitude. Aerial Ruin is a huge inspiration for me, and I feel so blessed to have shared a record together."

Preorders are currently available via http://www.StevieFloyd.Bandcamp.com and http://www.AerialRuin.BandCamp.com.

AERIAL RUIN: Live Performances Confirmed, Including Special Show With Folk Legend Bob Desper

AERIAL RUIN, the solo act of Erik Moggridge (ex- Old Grandad, Epidemic, etc.), has confirmed more West Coast performances for the coming months in support of his recently-released debut album, Valleys Of The Earth. The one-man acoustic act will perform this weekend in San Francisco, and again later this month in Eugene, Oregon. He's also confirmed a supporting slot performing with legendary/infamous Pacific Northwest folk hero, Bob Desper. Desper, who went blind at the age of 10, released one album in 1974 then disappeared from the music scene, yet that solitary release helped form the modern American downer/folk scene. This special night will be his first live performance since the 70's.

AERIAL RUIN Live Performances:
6/04/2011 Thee Parkside - San Francisco, CA w/ Walken, Saturn Returns
6/25/2011 Wandering Goat - Eugene, OR w/ Rye Wolves, Ninja
7/08/2011 The Woods - Portland, OR w/ Bob Desper, Al James, Evan Way, Old Light

Released worldwide via Vendlus Records in April, the eleven somber passages of Valleys Of The Earth showcase AERIAL RUIN's style of haunting, organic, singer/songwriter folk music. Crisp acoustic guitars and harrowing layers of clean vocals combine in an engulfing culmination of simplistic, atmospheric bliss. The eerie hymns have gone over with a variety of fans live, including Earth, Jesse Sykes and the Sweet Hereafter, Agalloch and more.

AERIAL RUIN: Footage From Tour With Agalloch Posted

Acoustic act AERIAL RUIN recently embarked on a trio of East Coast US live appearances supporting Agalloch and Worm Ouroboros, where solo artist Erik Moggridge -- formerly of Old Grandad, Epidemic and more -- showcased material from his new full-length release Valleys Of The Earth. A full set of live photos from New York City's Le Poisson Rouge are posted on Brooklyn Vegan here, and live video evidence of the Moggridge performing the album's opening track "Amends" can be viewed at this location.

AERIAL RUIN tour actions are being devised now and will be announced over the coming months and throughout the rest of the year in support of the new album.

Confirmed AERIAL RUIN Live Appearances:
4/11/2011 The East End - Portland, OR @ Heavy Metal Ladies Night w/ Rollerball, Fist Fite, DJ Nate C
6/04/2011 Thee Parkside - San Francisco, CA w/ Walken

Set for release via Vendlus Records on April 26, 2011, Valleys Of The Earth showcases AERIAL RUIN's incredible singer/songwriter style of haunting, organic folk over 11 somber passages. Crisp acoustic guitars and harrowing layers of clean vocals combine in an engulfing culmination of simplistic, atmospheric bliss. The eerie hymns have gone over with a variety of fans live, including Earth, Jesse Sykes and the Sweet Hereafter and acts from the mellower realms of Americana, as well as Agalloch and those on the more metal end.

"... one the most profoundly beautiful and heartbreaking recordings I have ever heard. Just devastating." -Aesop Dekker, drummer for Agalloch, Ludicra, Worm Ouroboros, etc.

"...dark, honest and soothing..." - Cosmo Lee, Decibel Magazine

"While Aerial Ruin's rustically picked arpeggios and chords are patterned on folk traditions, traces of metal can still be heard in these hushed tunes sense of mystery and foreboding. Moggridge's vocals hit the right
balance, a little eerie but mostly just focusing on somber melodies." - The Onion

"...somber acoustic folk. Very hushed and slow creeping, The man himself likened it to slowcore leaders Low but we hear shades of Mark Lanegan or the solo efforts of Neurosis' Steve
Von Till and Scott Kelly." - Aquarius Records, San Francisco

AERIAL RUIN Sign With Vendlus Records; East Coast Dates With Agalloch This Week

Vendlus Records is proud to announce the confirmed release of Portland, Oregon-based AERIAL RUIN's upcoming full-length album Valleys Of The Earth, set for official release on April 26, 2011.

AERIAL RUIN is the solo project of Erik Moggridge, formerly of Bay Area rockers Old Grandad, Drift of a Curse, Epidemic and other heavy West Coast acts within the metal and rock spectrums, though the mesmerizing output of AERIAL RUIN is vastly different than his previous acts. Here, Moggridge focuses on beautiful, minimalist, organic passages in a very stripped-down singer/songwriter approach. Crisp acoustic guitars and harrowing layers of clean vocals combine in an engulfing culmination of simplistic, atmospheric bliss.

In support of the album's coming release, AERIAL RUIN will be joining Agalloch and Worm Ouroboros on a trio of East Coast tour dates, hitting Raleigh, Baltimore and New York City this week.
