ABSU Announces Continuation Of North American Tour

ABSU today announce details on their upcoming tour, titled North American Connexus Continuation. The ten-city tour will see the band perform a complete set with music spanning throughout their twenty-two year recording career. This excursion is a follow-up mini-tour by the Texas-based mythological occult metal trio since the release of Abzu - the second of a planned trilogy of recordings.

Vocalist/drummer Proscriptor shares, "Since the release of our latest recording, Abzu, the response has been extremely vehement and now is the perfect moment to continue spreading the album's essence throughout unchartered regions the band did not perform in earlier this year. We purposely waited until the timing was ideal to embark on this additional journey, as we shall continue contaminating the communities with our craft of Mythological Occult Metal."

Proscriptor also adds, "We have begun the composition/arrangement process for the next album, suitably titled Apsu, which is the Sumerian-Akkadian spelling of the band moniker. We shall wait until the new album is released before we present any of the new material in a live atmosphere."

Abzu, the band's seventh studio album, was released October 2011. The album was recorded/mixed by J.T. Longoria (King Diamond/Solitude Aeternus) and features original works by Polish artist Zbigniew Bielak (Ghost, Watain, Entombed, Behemoth, Destroyer 666, Vader, Etc.) Proscriptor commented, "With this record, we appended dirtier elements of psychedelia and fusion. Lyrically, it descends deeper into Enki's lower world as well the Thelemic Magic(k) System." He added, "This album is not a 'natural progression' from previous releases, but a feat of metaphysical conquest and murkiness."

ABSU came to prominence with the release of their 1993 debut, Barathrum: V.I.T.R.I.O.L.  Each album saw continual expansion of the band's now highly regarded artistic vision and international fanbase. It was with 2001's Tara that the band truly arrived.  The album reached top lists of countless magazines worldwide. Years, however, would pass before any new material would be recorded. In late 2007, the band finally announced their re-awakening. Now teamed with London-based Candlelight Records, the band would take nearly sixteen months writing/recording their sixth album. Absu, featuring contributions from members of King Diamond, Mayhem, Melechesh, Firstborn and Enthroned, was released early 2009.

On this substantial tour attack, ABSU vocalist/drummer Proscriptor shares, “Since the release of our latest recording, Abzu, the response has been extremely vehement and now is the perfect moment to commemorate the album’s essence throughout North America. We purposely waited until the timing was ideal to embark on this journey, as we shall contaminate the communities with our craft of Mythological Occult Metal. We’re attempting to divide the concerts into two sections: the first act will showcase songs spanning from our entire discography, as the second act will focus on Phase Two from the album Tara: The Cythrául Klan’s Scrutiny. For the past couple of years, many of ABSU’s followers have requested specified songs from this chapter of Tara, so it is our aspiration to give the people what they want.”

Mythological occult metal discoverers ABSU will embark on the European Connexus Continuation Tour in March.

Stated ABSU vocalist/drummer Proscriptor on the tour name: “The explanation behind the name of the tour is because we have already toured Europe in April of last year, which was called ‘European Connexus Conjuration Tour.’ In other words, this is second chapter where ABSU left off.”

The band promises us Magic(k), Mystery and Mythology!” As for the set list Proscriptor adds: “We prefer to equally distribute songs from the entire discography of ABSU, so the wonderful manaics of Europe can expect old and new material. We like to cater to old and new fans of ABSU, so that is our main objective.”

After the upcoming European tour, ABSU will have an immense tour throughout North America, as it will solely be ABSU and local support acts only. In June, the band will be performing at Hellfest in France, Graspop in Belgium and a few select shows in Eastern Europe and Israel. Afterwards, they will painstakingly concentrate on delivering the next album: Apsu.

ABSU Forced To Cancel Chaos In Tejas Performance

Proscriptor Goes Under The Blade Just Hours After MDF Set

Mythological occult metal artisans ABSU regretfully announce the cancellation of their set at this weekend's Chaos In Tejas festivities, where they were confirmed to headline the show at Red 7 this Saturday with support from Terrorism, Loss, Morbosidad, Ares Kingdom and Black Witchery.

Immediately following their bludgeoning performance at the opening night of this year's sweltering installment of Maryland Deathfest this past Thursday night, ABSU drummer/vocalist Proscriptor had to rush back to Texas due to a knee infection. Following two instantaneous surgeries, Proscriptor will be in good health and back to 110% efficiency by the mid portion of June, but not in time to perform as scheduled on Saturday night.

This cancellation is disheartening to the band for the moment, as they were fully planning on leveling all in earshot at the performance this weekend; however, this procedure will now ensure that the band will be fully operational for the previously mentioned forthcoming ABSU live assaults throughout North and South America, which are being confirmed now to be announced in the weeks just ahead. Stay tuned to be inundated with new information on said events.

"First of all, we bitterly regret having to cancel our Brazilian tour being our debut South American appearance. Due to visa applications being inadequately processed, we cannot legally enter the country at this time; however, we are presently working with our agency to solidify rescheduling for the middle of October. We sincerely apologize to the Brazilian followers of ABSU who wanted to witness the band for the first time."

Further live ABSU assaults around the globe are being devised now for disbursement in the coming weeks.
