DOOMSDAY: Debut Release Streaming Online

The self-titled debut from Chicago downfall division DOOMSDAY is available for public consumption now via the band’s newly founded Disorder Recordings. As a gala for this punishing occurrence, the underworld musical practitioners at Cvlt Nation have hosted a stream of the entire short but pungent anti-human release.

DOOMSDAY recently undertook a week-and-a-half-long live trek through the Midwest and Northeast sectors of the country forecasting the end with their malicious riffs alongside Krieg and Wolvhammer. Check out new live footage from the mission below.

New live actions and further acts of malice onto the public will be declared on behalf of DOOMSDAY in the coming weeks.

Chicago-based DOOMSDAY unites guitarist Jeff Wilson (Chrome Waves, Wolvhammer, ex-Nachtmystium), guitarist/vocalist Jon Necromancer (Bones, ex-Usurper, ex-Nachtmystium), drummer Zack Simmons (Goatwhore, ex-Nachtmystium), vocalist Zion Meagher (Anti-Human Thesis, ex-Forest Of Impaled, ex-Nachtmystium) and bassist Bob Fouts (The Gates of Slumber, Chrome Waves, Apostle Of Solitude). A twenty-one minute assault, their self-titled debut was engineered by Sanford Parker (Nachtmystium, Twilight, Circle of Animals) and Carl Byers (Coffinworm), and melds the members’ cruel musical insight resulting in a depressingly grim crust-influenced blackened musical holocaust as invigorating as it is intimidating.

My Dying Bride: "Kneel 'till Doomsday" New Song Released

English, Death/Doom Metal band "My Dying Bride" has posted online a new song for "Kneel 'till Doomsday." The track appears at forthcoming album entitled "A Map of All Our Failures" which will be released Oct 15, 2012 through Peaceville. "Kneel 'till Doomsday" can be heard below.

Tracklist:
1, Kneel till Doomsday
2, The Poorest Waltz
3, A Tapestry Scorned
4, Like A Perpetual Funeral
5, A Map of all our Failures
6, Hail Odysseus
7, Within The Presence of Absence
8, Abandoned As Christ

My Dying Bride has been the leading force in the death/ doom metal genre since their inception in the early 1990’s and have gone on to forge a legacy of greatness in the field over the past 2 decades, since 1992’s debut release, As The Flower Withers.

2009’s For Lies I Sire set and subsequently met new heights of expectation placed upon the legendary Yorkshire doom troupe, but A Map of All Our Failures is a considerable step up for the band and further voyage into the darkest depths of humanity, religion, folklore, love and death.

My Dying Bride’s distinctively sumptuous dual guitar melodies effortlessly flood into juggernaut doom metal riffs, with the vocals of Aaron Stainthorpe weaving a rich tapestry of tragic tales into the accompanying soundscapes. A Map of All Our Failures is perhaps best and most effectively summarised by guitarist Andrew Craighan, who describes the album as “a controlled demolition of all your hopes”.

The album recording and mix was completed at Futureworks Studios in Manchester UK, with long-standing production maestro Mags at the helm. Artwork appears courtesy of Rhett Podersoo at Machine Room.

It was September 2007 during a cold Saturday night Shammael Kommando and Victor (Vocals and Guitars respectively) started to talk about the new musical project they had in mind. The first name that was used to refer to the project was WARFRONT, but during the composition of the first single of the group, THIS IS DOOMSDAY, surged the idea of this specific word (DOOMSDAY) was the perfect name for the band and it was used also as the most accurate title for this song. Then the search of the rest of the band members (bass and drums) for the still nonexistent band started. The group began to have shape by the composition of songs and creation of lyrics. The next member of DOOMSDAY was Enrique Ferreira (Pro-Hate!) in drums and he helped by completing THIS IS DOOMSDAY! and SILENT CRY. Afterwards due to the lack of equipment needed for the music composed by DOOMSDAY, Enrique decides to leave the band. In April 2008 Rodrigo Luppi arrives to the band to use the drumsticks. He also gives a new style to the already done singles and starts to create the drumline to the new demo PARASITES aside from giving the band a new single of his own, DISBELIEVE. At the beginnings of May of the same year Oscar Sobarzo, a friend in common of Rodrigo and Victor, joins the band giving new ideas for the already existent singles. Since that day the creation of more singles and live presentation started. During August of 2010, Rodrigo left the band and on September of the same year Danilo Perez joined the band as the new drummer, beggining a new era on the group, which it focuses on the creation of new and powerfull songs that is already part of their debut album during 2012 “Apocalyptic Requiem”.
