Members of INCANTATION Speak Out

Members of US death metal pioneers Incantation have issued a number of statements regarding the status of their long-awaited upcoming release and the unfortunate passing of former bass player, Joey "Fingers" Lombard.

On the new album...

"I have known John McEntee for about 23 years now. I am going back to a time when there was only a handful of us that played our dark extreme secret music.Things have changed since then and there is a much larger audience, but the hunger is still there for us to create the darkest extreme songs we can come up with. Incantation is one of the oldest bands who wave that dark sinister flag proudly. It is awesome after all these years to now be playing and writing together with John on the new material. I am more then confident that the new Incantation record is going to crush your skulls. In my opinion this is one of the band's darkest and most brutal collection of songs to date and it is my my honor and privilege to be working with two of death metals fineset players in Kyle Severn and Chuck Sherwood.Unleash the blood of the goat!" - Alex Bouks

"We are currently working on our new album , which we have about 80% finished. We have a lot more ideas to work on. I am very happy with the way things are coming together. Kyle, Chuck, Alex and I have killer songwriting chemistry and there is such a high quality of musicianship. This is an amazingly strong line up that truely understands the essence of Incantation's music. Watch out for the new album this year and a list of a few festival performances will be announced soon." - John McEntee

On the tragic death of former bassist Joey "Fingers" Lombard who passed away on January 3rd, 2012...

"As most of you know, the Incantation family has been dealing with the tragic loss of our former bassist and friend Joey "Fingers" Lombard. It's still really difficult to believe that Joey is gone. He was truly a great guy and an awesome and dedicated bandmember. Joey's contribution to the band will never be forgotten. We are fortunate to have written a lot of music with him, so in songs his legacy will live on.  Please understand this is a really hard time for the Incantation family and friends along with the Lombard family. Thanks for all the tributes and condolences for Joey, it really means a lot to us. - John McEntee

"I wanted to Thank everyone for their condolences for our fallen brother in metal and great friend Joey" Fingers" Lombard. Joey was one of the nicest people you could ever meet. Joey had stepped up to the plate and joined John McEntee and myself back in 2000 to create some of Incantations finest Blasphemy to date!!! He stuck with us for 5 plus long years of writing and traveling the death metal roads!! He was an amazing musician and bass player. He had contributed more than most could imagine to the death metal scene. He had made many new friends through those years on the road, he was such a likable guy. I don't think he had a mean bone in his body. He will be truly missed. 666 Horns to my Fallen Brother of Metal..." - Kyle Severn

Bassist Chuck Sherwood also chimed in about Incantation's recent appearance at the Gathering of the Bestial Legion...

"Forward into battle again we arrived at the Iron Room of the Echoplex in LA sharing a stage with the likes of many renowned and respectable bands. Our set encompassed our whole catalog of hellish mayhem which was received well by the 700+ who attended. Amazing and energetic crowd that makes LA such a intense location. With the terrible loss of a war brother namely Joe Lombard the whole band felt it was only fitting to dedicate not just Hailed Babylon (which Joe had his hands in forging) but the whole set to his memory. I think that I speak for all that the loss was great. I personally hope this honored him in true metal fashion. Autopsy whom we haven't witnessed since Holland's own Neurotic Deathfest were nothing short of amazing. Their delivery of old classics and new material proved once again that they still hold the banner high for death metal. Next, Divine Eve, after two years since our tour together came to LA. Definitely killer to cross paths again which I think was shared by all in both bands. They slaughtered the crowd with their performance of a full spectrum, unique style that only they can pull off with such grace. Their new drummer is an excellent addition that only added to their ferocious nature. HOD from TX with their new drummer as well, which I never saw before that night proved that they're as tight and powerful as they've ever been. And of course Acheron who's blasphemy spread like a sulfuric wave that crashed on the west coast that night. We were surrounded by a gang of heathens that formed the LA Crew that helped us through every step of the way. Whether it was paying our respects to Ronnie James Dio's grave or visiting the house that was filmed for the original Halloween it was an amazing time had by all. A long standing memory will now be burned into my brain of Vince from Acheron climbing into one of the open sarcophagi at the cemetery. Or when Beer from HOD stage-dove during Divine Eve's set. Great times had by all! Looking forward to our new conquest which should bring us into the studios soon. Hails to everyone involved, old comrades and new, that made LA such a success!"

As Incantation continues to work hard on new material in hopes for a 2012 release, the band has released something to tide fans over in the form of a brand new track (the first studio release in 6 years) as part of theAfter Party Massacre CD Soundtrack and  Limited Edition 7 Inch Bloodsplatter Vinyl -  click here to hear a sample of the track!

Along with the new Incantation material, Kyle has also finished up with his first foray into the cinema realm with a new horror/slasher movie called After Party Massacre. Co-written/co-directed with Kristoff Bates (of Horrormerch.com), this slasher starts with live performances by Incantation and Soulless, which then takes a deadly turn after the bands are finished as this UNRATED movie is filled with blood, scantly clad female flesh and lots of death metal!

Funerus To Unleash Reduced To Sludge on November 22nd

At long last, Funerus returns with the highly-anticipated Reduced to Sludge. Violent and brooding, this eleven-track nightmarish beast solidifies their place in the annals of underground death metal. Reduced to Sludge is the second release from the Pennsylvania/New York based death metal band that features Incantation guitarist John McEntee, bassist/vocalist Jill McEntee and drummer Sam Inzerra (Mortician, Morpheus Descends). The album was engineered by Sam Inzerra, Jim Roe and John McEntee. Drums and guitars were recorded at Neanderthal Studios in Plainfield, New Jersey and the bass and vocals were recorded at Aries Studio in Johnstown, PA. Reduced To Sludge was mixed and mastered by Dan Swano (Bloodbath, Dark Funeral, Dissection, Hail Of Bullets, Opeth). The cover artwork was done by Dusty Peterson (Six Feet Under, Cattle Decapitation, Bloodbath). Funerus has made the track "Sound Of Oil" available for streaming on their Facebook page. Reduced to Sludge will be released by Ibex Moon Records on November 22nd. Jill McEntee comments on the album, "I feel we were able to capture the natural Funerus essence on this album. It continues in the same vein of the first album Festering Earth, in heaviness and songwriting. I think it will be well received."

Jill also had this to say about the band's upcoming performance at the Goregrowler's Ball in November where they will share the stage with the likes of Exhumed, Goatwhore, Suffocation and many more, "Funerus is happy to announce we will be playing the Goregrowler's Ball In San Antonio TX, which runs from November 18th to November 20th. This will be our first time playing Texas since we played in Austin back in about 2003. It's great to be part of such a killer line-up of bands this year. See you all there!" Ibex Moon Records Set To Release Afterparty Massacre Soundtrack

Ibex Moon Records is set to release the brutality-laden soundtrack to this year's bloodiest and most gore-filled film of the year, Afterparty Massacre. Featuring music from the likes of DENIAL FIEND, INCANTATION, CARDIAC ARREST, GRAVEHILL, FATALIST, GOREAPHOBIA, FUNERUS, FERAL, SOULLESS, LIFELESS & ESTUARY, this soundtrack threatens to incite as much bloodlust and violence as the accompanying film.

The Afterpaty Massacre soundtrack will be available worldwide via Ibex Moon Records on June 6th

Filmmaker Kristoff Bates comments:

"The Afterparty Massacre is definitely a killer party type of movie - We really wanted to make a movie that showcased metal, murder and mayhem - and we got it!"

"The movie itself is pretty fast paced as we have multiple stories going on within the movie. Between the show, the fans, the drama, flashbacks of tour stories, the afterparty itself and a bunch of kill scenes in between - the movie is packed with action, weirdness, live music and lots of bloody eye candy to enjoy as well."

"The Afterparty Massacre was a fun project to take on, as it was my first full length movie and Kyle's first dive into cinema as well. We really hit the ground running with an awesome crew involved and soundtrack behind it to make everything go as smooth as possible."

"Kyle's idea of making the extreme metal drive the movie really started molding the movie into shape as we were writing it. Once we teamed up with friends from Ibex Moon Records and Bit Riot Records we then had a full arsenal of extreme metal and industrial to really push and deliver the energy of the movie."

"With the use of the extreme metal (by Asphyx, Incantation, Denial Fiend, Cardiac Arrest, etc.) we were definitely able to keep the fast paced darker energy within the movie flowing, while the industrial (from 16Volt, Cyanotic, Be My Enemy, etc.) really helped accent the kill scenes. The careful music selections we made definitely kept more of an edge to the movie and it is a powerful part of the movie instead of some movies where the music is just used as filler and background noise."

"When we talked about doing a soundtrack release, we wanted to make a much more special release than most soundtracks now that include a bunch of pre-existing songs and are just label samplers in a new wrapper. But we were amazed when all of the bands involved (Incantation, Denial Fiend, Cardiac Arrest, Gravehill, Feral, Fatalist, Soulless, Lifeless, Goreaphobia, Funerus and Estuary) all wrote brand new and exclusive tracks for this soundtrack release. It's even more special in that Denial Fiend (members of Obituary, DRI, Down By Law, Massacre) wrote a song about the killer in the Afterparty Massacre and Cardiac Arrest even gave us two songs to use within the CD release as well!"

"The soundtrack itself is definitely a huge release within the extreme metal community because of all of the great bands involved and all of the exclusive material included. Even if I wasn't involved with making the movie, I'd pick the soundtrack up because it definitely is not your standard "sampler" movie soundtrack release and it helped me discover a few new names (Cardiac Arrest, Feral, Fatalist) to check out more of their other releases as well!"

"Along with all of the fun times that went into the making of the Afterparty Massacre movie and music releases, Kyle and I were definitely appreciative with all of the hard work that the cast, crew and bands hand put into this release. We definitely enjoyed working with everyone and had a blast this past year in filming, editing and now showing the movie all across the US. Plus it's given us inspiration to start up production on a new movie idea later this fall, we're definitely hyped to start production on something new all over again hahah!"

Denial Fiend - Afterparty Massacre
Incantation - Absolved In Blood
Estuary - Impulse Imprint
Gravehill - If You Want Blood (AC/DC cover)

INCANTATION Announce Polish Tour

Following their performance at the opening day of this year's Neurotic Death Fest (April 29th), death metal pioneers Incantation are set to to invade Poland this spring for their first headlining run of the country. The tour runs from May 1st - May 8th and will also feature Polish black metallers Christ Agony. Incantation founder/frontman and Ibex Moon Records head honcho John McEntee issued the following statement:

"With great honor we are proud to announce that we are doing our first headlining tour of Poland. Our first time playing Poland was back in 2007 as part of the Blitzkrieg 4 Tour 2007 with the killer line up of Vader, Krisiun , Rotting Christ and my other band Funerus. This will be the first time we can play our full sent for all of our long time diehard Polish supporters, something we have been looking forward to for many years.

Poland has always been good to us. From the band's inception back in 1989 we have always had massive support for the Polish underground, but have had lots of problems making it over there to preform for one reason or another. Finally over 20 years after the formation of the band we will do our first headlining tour. It will be great to see our old school friend along with many new fans alike.

The tour will be with the legendary Polish band Christ Agony. This is one of Poland's greatest and most well-respected bands. Anyone that knows anything about the Polish underground black death metal scene will agree.  It will be great to play along side them every night!

We look forward to seeing all you sick Polish Incantation supporters. We have a great set list that we are working on for the tour and we can't wait to spill our guts out for you guys every night.

Also, some of the Polish shows will be recorded (video and audio) and if the recordings quality comes out good we hope to use them for a live record and DVD sometime late this year.

With all this great Polish news I also want to say that we are also playing the Neurotic Death Fest this year and it is a absolute honor to be apart of this amazing fest. We want to thanks the promoter for including us on this awesome fest. Along side some of my personal favorite bands!  We look forward to seeing all our Dutch supporters there, it will be a kick ass time."

In other news, Incantation drummer Kyle Severn recently debuted his gore-filled horror film Afterparty Massacre. Afterparty Massacre was written and filmed by Kyle and Horrormerch.com's Kristoff. The film features music and performances from Incantation and comes with a soundtrack showcasing many of death metal's most brutal acts; including Cardiac Arrest, Gravehill, Fatalist and many more. Afterparty Massacreis one killer party with mind-blowing amounts of blood, metal and flesh! Visit the film's Facebook page orwww.afterpartymassacre.com for details.

Formed in the small Northern Swedish town of Norsjo in late 2003 by vocalist Hook and bassist Valmer, Feral was originally known simply as Valmer & Hook. Though the duo never intended for the project to be anything more than a 'joke band,' Valmer and Hook soon saw potential in what they were doing and decided to take things to the next level. After relocating to the nearby town of Skellefteå, the pair teamed up with guitarist Svarte Petter and drummer Damien before eventually rounding out their roster with the addition of guitarist Big Mac. With the lineup complete, the band soon began writing and performing around their native Sweden. It was during this time that they took on the name Feral; chosen to match the wild and untamed force and raw power of the band.

Soon thereafter, Feral began recording demos and playing some very high-profile gigs, including a month long European tour with death metal legends Master in February of 2009 and a mini-tour with Six Feet Under in September of the same year. In between these tours, Feral returned to the studio to record the highly acclaimed Welcome To The Graveyard demo, which caught the attention of Ibex Moon Records' owner, John McEntee, who signed the band to his label late last year.

With a solid lineup, a firm and strong sound, and all the determination in the world, the band now feels stronger than ever before! At the onset of 2010, the group recording their debut full-length CD, Dragged To The Altar, which is to be released on April 26th, 2011 via Ibex Moon Records.

Only time will tell what the future holds for Feral, but some things are certain:
The band is far from a joke these days. The Feral beast has only just been born, and it will grow stronger and bigger each day. Any obstacles will be struck down, any antagonists will be mangled. The plague will spread, the creature will roar and every time you gaze into the darkness you will see those glowing eyes staring back at you, hungry for more.

Very interesting and very brutal. - Minacious Webzine
