IMMOLATION - POST BRAND NEW TRACK

New York based death metal legendsIMMOLATION recently posted the brand new song "The Purge" on their official Myspace page. The track comes off their Nuclear Blast debut, Majesty and Decay, set for release on March 5, 2010 (Europe) and March 9, 2010 (N. America).

Bassist/vocalist Ross Dolan comments:

"It was a unanimous decision to choose ‘The Purge’ as the first song off of Majesty and Decay to debut to the world. It is the first song on the record and we think it really sets the tone for the rest of the album. ‘The Purge’ is an extremely aggressive and angry song that really has so many elements to it, and it is the perfect opening track as well because it takes the listener through some of the many moods and feelings contained within the album. It is a very extreme song in many ways and showcases all of the classic IMMOLATION elements.

Lyrically the song takes the concept we started developing on 'World Agony' and expands upon it, taking it to the next level in a very extreme way. We really liked the idea behind 'World Agony,' so when we began the process of writing lyrics for the new record while in the studio, I had the title and a loose concept for ‘The Purge’ and we added to it. ‘The Purge’ is a condemning song that takes an ugly look at mankind and forces us to open our eyes and accept responsibility for our actions. It is a very dark song with lots of emotion that I think will grab the listener right from the opening notes."

IMMOLATION recently entered Millbrook Sound Studios in New York with longtime producer Paul Orofino. Mixing duties were handled this time by Zack Ohren (DECREPIT BIRTH, SUFFOCATION, ALL SHALL PERISH). Cover art was created by Par Olofsson (THE FACELESS, IMMORTAL, ABYSMAL DAWN).

Unique-disharmonic-blackend-death-metal legends IMMOLATION, have entered Millbrook Sound Studios in New York with longtime producer Paul Orofino to begin recording their Nuclear Blast debut and 8th over all album. The band checked in from the studio today to offer the following details and update:

"Today we have begun the recording process for our 8th full length release. Once again we have entered Millbrook Sound Studios in upstate Millbrook, New York and will start tracking with Paul Orofino tomorrow. This will be our 6th time visiting Millbrook Studios and we are really looking forward to the whole process.

The new album will contain 10 songs of the strongest material we have ever written. The new material is more violent and aggressive, with fast sections that take us to a new level of speed and intensity, while complementing the dark and sullen heavier moments. There are plenty of miserable and militant movements to please the die hard and new IMMOLATION fans alike.

We’ve spent the past two months rehearsing and fine tuning the songs so that all ten are stand-outs and create a complete listening experience. Needless to say, we are all very pleased and enthusiastic about the new material and are anxious to debut it to the fans.

Following the recording process here in Millbrook, we have decided to try something new for the mixing process, so we have enlisted the talents of Zack Ohren (DECREPIT BIRTH, SUFFOCATION, ALL SHALL PERISH). We are confident he will do an excellent job in giving a fresh new life to the IMMOLATION sound.

We are still in the process of getting ideas together for the album’s concept and cover art, but these final details will be worked out in the near future.”
