LAY DOWN ROTTEN Reveals New Album Details

For nearly 15 years,  LAY DOWN ROTTEN has stood for energetic top-notch Death Metal. Their haunting live-shows at festivals like With Full Force, Rock Harz, Extremefest, Death Feast and Summer Breeze, and shows alongside the likes of Cannibal Corpse, Bolt Thrower and Aborted have always grabbed the audience by the balls.

Albums like Breeding Insanity (Remission Records), Gospel Of The Wretched (Metal Blade Records) and last year's Mask Of Malice (Metal Blade Records) have been well-received within the whole scene and the press. Now, it is time for the first sign of life from the band via their new label-home Apostasy Records!

Deathspell Catharsis is the name of the new output which was once again produced by the band's confidant Thilo Krieger in his Desert Inn Studio. The new album will definitely prove their status and the great artwork by Toshihiro Egewa (Cryptopsy, Defeated Sanity, Krisiun and many more) totally accompanies that impression.

This bulldozer of an album will be released on January 24th 2014 in Germany, Austria and Switzerland, January 27th 2014 in the UK and the rest of Europe and on February 11th 2014 in North America. It will take no prisoners.

LAY DOWN ROTTEN Signs With Apostasy Records

Apostasy Records is proud to welcome German death metallers LAY DOWN ROTTEN to their roster. The band has made the following statement regarding the signing: 

"After it was quiet for quite a long time with LAY DOWN ROTTEN, we can finally spread some news again! First we want to announce that we have signed a new label deal with APOSTASY RECORDS! We are really looking forward to working together with Tomasz & Co. To finish a new album as soon as possible then, we are naturally working at full stretch on new songs now. It should also not be unmentioned that our drummer Timo has pulled off some new Endorsement-Deals. Thus he is now very well equipped by CUBE DRUMS, SAMSUN CYMBALS and ICE STIX! And finally, you can still visit us live, of course. A few new shows are already confirmed. Some other will certainly follow for this year!"

LAY DOWN ROTTEN formed in 1999 and have released seven studio albums since then. Their new album Mask Of Malice is their eighth and successor toGospel Of The Wretched (2009), an album that was mixed and mastered by scene icon Dan Swanö. German Death Metallers LAY DOWN ROTTEN busy recording new studio album! Album title revealed!

The German Death Metal unit LAY DOWN ROTTEN is busy recording their new longplayer at the Desert Inn studios. Their sixth longplayer (third for Metal Blade) will be entitled Mask Of Malice and is scheduled for a February 2012 release via Metal Blade Records.

Song titles include "Deathchain", "…And Out Come The Wolves", "Hades Resurrected" and "Swallow The Bitterness".

Comments the band: "We are almost done recording our sixth album. We recorded at the Desert Inn Studio where we also worked on the last five albums. The new album will be called "Mask of Malice" and it features ten killer tracks that combine the raw dynamics of the typical LAY DOWN ROTTEN sound with the bittersweet melodies of Death Metal hymns you wanna bang your head to!"
