LIGHTNING SWORDS OF DEATH Announces North American Tour With Melechesh

LA-based black metal legion, LIGHTNING SWORDS OF DEATH, are emerging for a North American tour this June. They will be supporting Melechesh alongside Vreid and Reign of Lies. The tour begins on June 16th in Los Angeles at The Joint and will wrap up on June 30th in Brooklyn.

LIGHTNING SWORDS OF DEATH's "caustic yet otherworldly approach" (Decibel Magazine) has earned the band high praise from fans and critics worldwide with their most recent album, Baphometic Chaosium. Additionally, the band recently released their first ever music video for the title track. Directed by co-founder and lead vocalist, Autarch (aka metal illustrator, Farron Loathing), the project, which also marks Autarch's directorial debut, is the result of a partnership between Farron Loathing and Mortichrome Films. It is described by its creator as "a psycho-dramatic interpretation of the Mass of Chaos and the invocation of Baphomet as performed by a collective of ritual performance artists." Watch the video now at THIS LOCATION.

LIGHTNING SWORDS OF DEATH Join The 7 Days Of Plague Tour 2011

California black metal legion LIGHTNING SWORDS OF DEATH are pleased to join the upcoming 7 Days Of Plague Tour, a West Coast tour that celebrates paint-huffing and paint-peeling volume! With performances by:

Midnight
Saviours
LIGHTNING SWORDS OF DEATH
 Archons

The 7 Days Of Plague is a tour that sports an abundance of  Y-chromosomes, a wealth of quality riffage and so many fucking scene points, we won't even include orthodoxies such as band descriptions, select discographies or label affiliations in this press release.
Commented LIGHTNING SWORDS OF DEATH vocalist Autarch of the short but imminent journey: "Seven days of hellfire, anarchy and fucking Armageddon. If you miss this, kill yourself!"

LIGHTNING SWORDS OF DEATH will be touring in support of The Extra Dimensional Wound, their second full-length, released via Metal Blade Records last year.

"...brutal, icy hot, super heavy, [and] full of lurching ‘grooves...’” -- Stereogum

"LIGHTNING SWORDS OF DEATH set out to make their demons visible and to inject their dark knowledge into their music. There are many pretenders to that aim in black metal, but, as The Extra Dimensional Wound proves, few are as serious as a heart attack like these guys." -- Music Emissions

"Autarch's words seem to come from another place, ethereal and disturbing. 'Nihilistic Stench's' double bass and blackened thrash, rips and shreds the flesh, until finally, 'Path to Chaos' gives the true sense of how much potential LSOD has with creating atmosphere, great song-writing, but most importantly, terror." -- The Gauntlet

"The most incongruous fact about LSOD is that they are from Los Angeles, ground zero for Baywatch, Hollywood and loathsome glam metal like Motley Crue and L.A. Guns. They have done their hometown proud; Nikki Sixx would crap his pants if he ever heard this album." -- About.com

LIGHTNING SWORDS OF DEATH: California Black Metallers Comment On Tour Cancellation

Win The Special Vinyl Edition Of The Extra Dimensional Wound Via Decibel This Weekend

Los Angeles black metal collective, LIGHTNING SWORDS OF DEATH, who were slated to kick off a month-long U.S. tour supporting  death metal legends Master last week, were forced to head back home when the headliners were prevented from entering the country.

Commented vocalist Autarch of the unfortunate tour cancellation: "Know this: LIGHTNING SWORDS OF DEATH was thoroughly prepared for this tour only to be thwarted by circumstances beyond our control. I assure you all, we shall return with a vengeance in the near future. Already the black teet of kaos have begun to drip strange opportunity upon the ashes of this Master disaster. I shall reveal more details as they materialize."

LIGHTNING SWORDS OF DEATH's The Extra Dimensional Wound, their second full-length, released via Metal Blade Records last year, was released on vinyl in December via Canonical Hours Records and is available as a deluxe gatefold LP featuring two 200-gram discs with a 12-page booklet and expanded artwork in a limited edition of 500 copies. In honor of its infernal magnanimity, Decibel Magazine is holding a special caption contest this weekend. LIGHTNING SWORDS OF DEATH: Prepare For Upcoming Tour; Scion Footage Posted

LIGHTNING SWORDS OF DEATH: Black Metal Legion Prepare For Upcoming North American Tour; Scion Footage Posted

California lords of auditory torture, LIGHTNING SWORDS OF DEATH, are currently preparing for an upcoming North American tour in support of  Czech Republic-by-way-of-Chicago death metal legends Master. The long-anticipated trek, which will include Ohio thrashers Mobile Deathcamp, is set to take place this month and run through approximately a month's worth of dates. Stay tuned for further details.

In the meantime, check out quality footage and an interview with the band at last year's Scion Rock Fest HERE or below.

LIGHTNING SWORDS OF DEATH will be touring in support of The Extra Dimensional Wound, their second full-length, released via Metal Blade Records last year. Their record continues to reap critical acclaim for its inherently evil atmosphere and infernal crushingness. About.com called it: “one of the label’s best releases in recent memory. What makes this album work so well is that LSODhaven’t lost their powerful low end, their penchant for blasphemy [or] their H.P. Lovecraft tinged-lyrics…..” while Stereogum commended the band saying The Extra Dimensional Wound is, “brutal, icy hot, super heavy, [and] full of lurching ‘grooves,’” Added  Invisible Oranges adamantly: “…perhaps the first American black metal band who can go toe-to-toe with Europe’s heavy-hitters in terms of force.” Sea Of Tranquility called it “a solid old school sounding release the ups the ante as far as the brutality goes,” and The Gauntlet put it simply: "LIGHTNING SWORDS OF DEATH evoke unforgiving torture and terror with every note.”

The Extra Dimensional Wound sawits vinyl release last month via Canonical Hours Records. The wax version is available as a deluxe gatefold LP featuring two 200-gram discs with a 12-page booklet and expanded artwork in a limited edition of 500 copies.

Sea Of Tranquility called it "a solid old school sounding release the ups the ante as far as the brutality goes," and The Gauntlet put it simply: "LIGHTNING SWORDS OF DEATH evoke unforgiving torture and terror with every note."

The second official studio offering (and first for Metal Blade Records) from the Southern California black metal horde was recorded in Corona, California at Trench Studios by guitarist Roska with John Haddad handling engineering duties, and was mixed and mastered by Sverker “Necro” Widgren at the legendary Necromorbus Studios in Stockholm Sweden.
