Jon 'The Prof', frontman for MASSIVE SLAVERY recounts the day of the shoot: "It was just an insane experience, even if I nearly killed myself on the first scene, hahaha. ( I fell from a rock cliff on a pile of big rocks right on my back and arm).  I still have bruises from it, but when I see this video produced by Chad it was definitely worth it!"

You can view the video below

For more info on Massive Slavery:

RockGamer Studios will introduce their first track with "true authentic double bass drumming" via MASSIVE SLAVERY -  "Humanity's Last Hope", for the Rock Band Video game in December.

BIO

Global Enslavement is a Revolutionary Album in Modern Death Metal. It is a concept death metal album that explores some of the darkest parts of modern history that caused the epic failures of our society today. 'Global Enslavement' was released July 26th via Maple Metal Records, Toronto/Canada; the label launched by John Belrose, producer of Exciter's "Heavy Metal Maniac".

MASSIVE SLAVERY hail from the towns of Val d'Or and Rouyn-Noranda, the gold-mining district in Northern Quebec. The province of Quebec, Canada has traditionally been a hot bed for great metal talent and now MASSIVE SLAVERY can be added to that illustrious list.

Born from a concept conceived by bassist Marc-André Barrette (ex-Paroxysm) and guitarist Joël St-Amant (ex-Descend into Nothingness), Massive Slavery was officially created in the winter of 2009.

Having previously worked with Joel in "Descend into Nothingness", drummer Pierre-Alexandre Mercier (ex-Decrepity) did not hesitate to join the crew. Even if the band were still looking for a front man, they began to write and work on fresh material.

After a couple of months of hunting around, their search was finally rewarded when vocalist Jon 'The ProF' St-Pierre landed the role, to round out this new quartet. His addition to the band gave new dynamics, and a boost of energy to push the band into finalizing the writing of their first album.

The collaboration of this musical assault Global Enslavement combines a mix of melodic, brutal and technical death metal.

The album was produced and recorded by Yannick St-Amand (Despised Icon, Beneath the Massacre, Neuraxis) in January, at Northern Studio in Northern Quebec.  It was mixed and mastered by Pierre Rémillard (Anvil, Kataklysm, Misery Index, Malevolent Creation) in February, at Wild Studio north of Montreal.

MASSIVE SLAVERY is:
Jon 'the ProF' St-Pierre - vocals
Joel St-Amant - guitar
Marc-André Barrette - bass
Pierre-Alexandre Mercier - drums

SUBHUMAN: Profondo Rozzo

‘Profondo Rozzo’ is pure dynamite Thrash-Death Metal: killer riffs, powerful voice, stunning guitar solos and earthshaking drumming for 9 songs of intense moshing power!
SUBHUMANProfondo RozzoMaple Metal Records Release: 9/12/2009

ENGLISH Interpretation of the Lyrics on Profondo Rozzo: Comments by Matteo Buti

01. Profondo Rozzo
The title is wordplay on the Dario Argento’s horror masterpiece “Profondo Rosso” (“Deep Red”). “Rosso” was changed to “Rozzo”, which means “Rude”. Hence, the literal translation of the title is “Deeply Rude”: an expression that well represents Subhuman’s attitude. The song describes what happens after a serial killer’s death: he finds himself in Heaven and not in Hell. But Paradise is not a good place for him so, with furious anger, he smashes up the Kingdom of God.

02. Nata Troia

Nata Troia” means “Natural Born Whore”. This song was inspired by Laura Panerai, one of the most famous Italian amateur porn stars. The spoken words at the beginning of the song are from one of Laura’s movies.

03. Trenta Denari
Thirty Silver Pieces” is the amount of money for which Judas sold and betrayed Jesus.

04. Mafia
This song is about the criminal organization that unfortunately made Italy famous for, worldwide.

05. Odio Chiama Odio
“Hate Brings Hatred”: this song is about the infamous clandestine dogfights, as seen by a dog’s point of view.

06. Babbo Fatale
Another wordplay: “Babbo Natale” is the italian Santa Claus. But our character is “Fatale” (=“fatal”): he’s a perverse man who disguises himself as Santa to easily enter in the houses. But his gifts are not so pleasant for the house dwellers... (“The Grinch”)

07. Il Bersagliere ha 100 Penne
Il Bersagliere ha 100 Penne” (“The Marksman has 100 Feathers”) was a popular folksong sung bypartisans: they fought against fascists to set Italy free from Benito Mussolini’s dictatorship. Subhuman took the lyrics and made their own version.

08. Infamia e Potere
This song (whose title is “Infamy and Power”) is about Vatican’s highest hierarchies: it’s a critique about religious who, wearing the “God’s messengers on Earth” mask, take advantage of their own Catholic faith and followers, to get more money and power.

09. 1110 Giorni
1110 Days” is the amount of time Pietro Pacciani spent in jail. He was the first suspect to seven double murders committed in the quiet tuscan countryside between the 70’s and 80’s. Nowadays, the truth about “Il Mostro di Firenze” (the Monster of Florence) is still a mystery...

................................

SUBHUMAN is considered to be “one of the best bands” to rise up from Italy’s flourishing Thrash Metal underground movement. Formed in 2001, this 5-member band was inspired by early Bay Area legends, but has consistently aimed to stand out above their peers, embodying influences from the savagery of Death Metal and modern technical elements, much in the same vein as Meshuggah and Nevermore. In finalizing their compositions, everything is enriched with Italian lyrics, which contribute to distinguish Subhuman from the multitude of other bands that play a similar style of music.

Their debut “Delirio n° 1”, was one of the highest rated EPs in 2005, and has been a real earthquake for the underground Metal scene. Italian and international reviews have been totally enthusiastic and “Delirio n° 1” has garnered a huge series of ‘Top Demo’ titles, permitting Subhuman to acquire an uncommonly strong impact for a debuting band. The success of the EP allowed the band to have many opportunities for intense live activity, with non-stop touring and acquiring a huge fan following. Subhuman stunned the crowd with their killer live performance at theEvolution Festival ’08, playing on the same roster as In Flames, Opeth, Gamma Ray, Death Angel & many more.

In November 2008, after the line-up was renewed, Subhuman entered Studio73 (Ephel Duath, Extrema, Slowmotion Apocalypse etc) to record their first full-length album “Profondo Rozzo”. A few months later the band inked a deal with Canadian upstart label Maple Metal Records(property of John Belrose, Exciter’s legendary “Heavy Metal Maniac”producer) that released the album on August 21st, 2009.

In 2003 Fabrizio "Zula" Ferzola joined the band as vocalist, they begin to write new songs in the italian language and one year later recorded its first ep album, Delirio n°1. In 2006 Subhuman were chosen to play on the talent stage at the Metalcamp in Slovenia, in 2008 they opened the second stage at the Evolution Festival in Italy, with Opeth, In Flames, Death Angel and many more. Then Subhuman entered the Studio73 studios in Ravena to record their debut full-length album entitled Profondo Rozzo released one year later through the Canadian label Maple Metal Records owned by John Belrose, the producer of Exciter's Heavy Metal Maniac.
