Ravenland: new female vocalist revealed


Brazilian goth metallers RAVENLAND announced Tatiana Berke as their new female vocalist. Berke, 28, was born in São Paulo and is involved with music since she was 15 years old, singing with cover bands and projects like Melodic Stanzas (The Gathering official tribute band), Envoid, and Suzan's Leaf. After being away from the scene for 3 years, she is back as one of Ravenland's members, sharing vocals with Dewindson Wolfheart.

 
About the new line-up Dewindson comments: "Her debut with us happened in March, in the recordings of "Memories"! EP, which will be released soon. She will bring something new to our sound. Right now she is in Europe in a interview with RAVENHEART Music and making contacts for promotion of the EP."

Hydria: "Poison Paradise" released in Japan



Brazilian symphonic metallers HYDRIA had their second album, "Poison Paradise", released in Japan on April 13th via Spinning (www.spinninginc.jp). The album was originally released in Brazil in November/2010, two years after their debut, "Mirror of Tears". The japanese edition features new artwork and two bonus tracks, "Chasing Dreams" and "Face It All". The track list can be viewed below, and also features two songs composed in 2009 for the soundtrack of “2012 Onda Zero”, a sci-fi webseries.

The album is already being promoted in Japan, and received a great review by Young Guitar magazine, which commented: "The brazilian symphonic metal band Hydria has great highlights like the beauty of Mrs. Schüler, who, with only 21 years old, charms us with her melodious voice, along with the loud male voice, which creates the feeling of agony and explosion by the guitarist/vocalist, giving an aggressive approach to a melodic and catchy atmosphere."

Hydria is formed by Raquel Schüler (vocals), Marcelo Oliveira (guitars and vocals), Márcio Klimberg (keyboards), Turu Henrick (bass) and Fabiano Martins (drums). Samples of the band's work are available here.

Scelerata: new album will be recorded at Blind Guardian's Twilight Hall Studios



SCELERATA is currently working on its third album, which will be recorded in Brazil and Germany. This new effort will be produced byCharlie Bauerfeind (HelloweenBlind GuardianRageSaxonHalfordHammerfallMotörhead), continuing the partnership started in 2007, when he worked on "Skeletons Domination", Scelerata's second album.

About this partnership the drummer Francis Cassol said: "It will be our second work with Charlie, whom we worked with on Skeletons Domination, but the first time that he works since the beginning of the recordings. He had the idea to produce and record the album, which we thought was great. We are discussing about the recording and new songs since the first half of 2010, and we are very excited to see it done."

Francis will begin the drummer recordings in Germany in May, at Blind Guardian's Twilight Hall Studios. The recordings will be finished untill July.

Meanwhile Scelerata is rehearsing to play in Porto Alegre in April 10th, with Kamelot, during its South American tour.

Lothlöryen: "When Madness Calls" single available for download





Brazilian heavy/folk metallers LOTHLÖRYEN are working on their third album, the follow-up of 2008's "Some Ways Back No More", released by Die Hard Records (U.D.O., ANNIHILATOR, TNT, MAGICIAN, CHRIS CAFFERY).

The new effort, which according to the band will be their heaviest work so far, will present a new line-up, featuring the vocalist Daniel Felipe. The album is being recorded in São Paulo, Brazil, and produced by Augusto Lopes (Dr. Sin, Scelerata, Hangar), ex-guitarist of Torture Squad.


This new album will be released in the second half of 2011. Meanwhile the band is booking dates for a tour which will begin in June. They also posted a single online entitled "When Madness Calls".

About the new song the guitarist Leko Soares comments: "This single doesn't reflect exatly how the new album will sound, since it's the most simple of the tracks, but we decided to start from it because it has all the elements that will be found in our new album: heaviness, atmosphere and great choruses."

Ecliptyka: "A Tale of Decadence" making of available






Brazilian metallers ECLIPTYKA posted a series of four webisodes documenting the making of "A Tale of Decadence", the band's debut album. The CD was recorded at Mark Studio and features guest appearances on vocals by Marcelo Carvalho (HATEFUL) and Danilo Herbert (MINDFLOW). The artwork was designed by João Duarte (ANGRAANDRE MATOSHANGAR).

ECLIPTYKA is a heavy metal band that draws its influences from hard rock, death metal and metalcore. The band's lineup is formed by Helena Martins (vocals),Guilherme Bollini (guitars, vocals), Hélio Valisc (guitars), Eric Zambonini (bass) and Tiago Catalá (drums).
