NAILS: New Track Available

Let's get straight to the point - if NAILS' new record Abandon All Life is a howling war cry, then the track “Wide Open Wound” is the battle. Replete with bludgeoning beatdowns, grinding blasts, hyper-distorted vocals, hard-hitting metallic chugs and early death metal riffs, rage intensifies to a climatic end where the guitars wail and militant drum breakdowns send us marching. Clocking in at 3:37, “Wide Open Wound” is an absolute epic for NAILS and it accentuates just how dynamic Abandon All Life really is.

Terrorizer has today joined the front-line of the attack, premiering "Wide Open Wound" for all to hear... RIGHT HERE.

Previously, the album’s crushing “God's Cold Hands” was released via Pitchfork.

Recorded at Godcity with Kurt Ballou (Converge) and mastered by Brad Boatright (From Ashes Rise). Abandon All Life will drop in North America via Southern Lord on March 19th.

With tour plans already coming together to support Abandon All LifeNAILS has locked down a brutal run through the upper Midwest into Canada and down the East Coast at the end of April and beginning of May. The slaughter will kick off at the Chicago-based hardcore fest The Rumble, with two days of bands including The Killer, Xibalba, Early Graves, Twitching Tongues, Crown of Thornz, Hoods, Wisdom In Chains, Weekend Nachos, Expire, Power Trip, Alpha and Omega and tons more. From there, NAILS join vicious labelmates Xibalba on a co-headlining tour with support from Early Graves, sponsored By Invisible Oranges, the trek set to trample through Cleveland, Buffalo, Toronto, Montreal, Albany, Boston, Brooklyn and Philadelphia. NAILS: Track From New LP Raids Pitchfork North American Tour With Xibalba And Early Graves Announced

NAILS, tyrants of the American underground, have triumphantly completed their second full-length Abandon All Life, due out Spring 2013 on Southern Lord.

Recorded at Godcity with Kurt Ballou (Converge) and mastered by Brad Boatright (From Ashes Rise), these ten tracks of barbaric rage have no resemblance to the laughable, retro party metal that passes as extreme music in today's world. Instead, NAILS carpet bombs the listener with their horrifying brand of death/grind/hardcore chaos; flawlessly blending shades of Suffocation, early Nasum, and Celtic Frost with their own sadistic aggression. With profound hatred, the howling war cry of Abandon All Life shows NAILS as a band without equal in their class. Abandon All Life will drop in North America via Southern Lord on March 19th. Today the cover art, crafted by Farron Kerzner(Lightning Swords of Death) has been posted.

Additionally, the crew at Pitchfork has unleashed the fourth track from NAILS’ new beast; blast the thunderous “God's Cold Hands” and kick off your week with a demoralizing beginning RIGHT HERE.

NAILS & SKIN LIKE IRON: Split EP Streaming Via Decibel Magazine

The split 7" EP between NAILS and SKIN LIKE IRON being collaboratively released by both bands at the end of January, is now streaming in its entirety via Decibel Magazine's website, RIGHT HERE.

Running the show on side A, San Francisco’s SKIN LIKE IRON have already become a well-known entity in modern hardcore with nearly ten releases on such admirable dissident hardcore labels as Six Feet Under and React Records. As on their Southern Lord debut LP Unsilent Death NAILS get in, kill, and get out, just as fans expect on these two tracks, which are in fact a preview of what is to be expected of their upcoming full-length, now being constructed for release via Southern Lord in sometime in 2012.

The limited one-time pressing of this raging hardcore EP has been manufactured to supply the public with 900 copies on black wax and 100 copies on blue. The artwork was handled by SKIN LIKE IRON’s Alex Capasso who has handled the art duties for previous releases for the band. Preorders for the EP can be found here.

Both NAILS and SKIN LIKE IRON have several upcoming shows this month, including two California record release shows with both bands performing in celebration of the EP's unveiling; one on January 21st in Pomona and January 28th in San Francisco.

One of Southern Lord's most recent label acquisitions, NAILS' music is beyond brutality; filthy, vicious and raw. Imagine a cross between the good Amrep bands of the nineties (Helmet, Hammerhead, Today is The Day, Unsane) and Cro-Mags Age of Quarrel riffage played at breakneck speeds. Their epic battle cry Unsilent Death was recorded during the cold winter of 2009 at Kurt Ballou's (Converge, Trap Them, Black Breath) Godcity Recording Studios. The CD version of Unsilent Death was originally released in limited quantities by Six Feet Under records. The LP version was self-released on the band on the band's own Streetcleaner label and quickly sold through the 1000 piece pressing. Southern Lord is extremely honored to pick up the torch of this album and let it burn brightly through many more countless battles!

"...stick your face in front of the speakers when their music is on, and prepare for third-degree burns. The Kurt Ballou-produced album is one of the most focused, frenetic and fanfuckingtastic efforts to merge grind’s relentlessness with hardcore’s muscular whomp." - Decibel

"It's as if Phobia, Nasum, Dismember, Cursed and Despise You squeezed out a blackened placenta of distorted bass walls, guitars that sound like aluminum on fire, and Jones doing his best imitation of himself being stabbed in the throat. 9/10" - Outburn

"Seemingly coming out of nowhere, Unsilent Death is a fantastic sophomore album from Nails that should provide them with some inclusion alongside some of the best up-and-coming bands in the hardcore scene. 4/5" - Metal Underground
