Twisted Tower Dire to replace Axenstar as direct support for Flotsam & Jetsam at WOM Fest VI Open Air

The Warriors of Metal, Inc.  non-profit organization is sad to report that due to the backlog of the Stockholm US Consulate's office, AXENSTAR was not able to get an interview appointment time that would make it possible for them to get their proper classification visas in order to come to the US and participate in the Warriors Of Metal Fest VI Open Air.  Fest organizer Datis Alaee states: "We did everything by the book but at least we now know since this exact thing happened to the Swedish Melodic Death Metal band Hypocrisy who missed their entire US Tour in May when they were told they could not get their visas by the end of June, sadly we are not the only ones this is happening to!"

Axenstar's vocalist and bass player, Magnus Winterwild states: "Due to circumstances beyond our control we are forced to cancel our performance at Warriors of Metal Fest VI Open Air, we're really sorry for this and we have done everything we can to make this work but without success. We were really looking forward to come to the US and we hope we get the chance to come over next year instead."

TWISTED TOWER DIRE will fill the direct support to the Saturday headliner position for Axenstar and band guitarist David Boyd states: "We're sorry that Axenstar can't make it this year but we're honored to take the spot."

Due to the vacant spot that this recent development created, the Columbus, Ohio Melodic Thrash Metal band MITHRIDIUM has been moved from the Pre-Fest Showcase to kickstart the Saturday lineup of the main stage and the young Detroit Thrash Metal band HALSTATT has been added to the Pre-Fest Showcase lineup.  Band guitarist Chris Wellman states: "This is our first show out of Michigan and it is a privilege and an honor. Looking forward to Halstatt kicking off this years Warriors Of Metal Fest Open Air!"

Ohio`s Warriors of Metal Fest VI Open Air confirms TWISTED TOWER DIRE for 2013

Warriors of Metal, inc. non-profit is very privilaged to announce that the North Carolina / Virginia Traditional Metal professionals of Twisted Tower Dire have been confirmed to play at the Warriors of Metal Fest VI Open Air to take place on June 28th & 29th, 2013 at the Frontier Ranch in Pataskala, Ohio.

Band manager and guitarist, Scott Waldrop states: "Thanks to Datis and The Warriors of Metal Fest for having us back in 2013! This summer we were scheduled to play on Friday night but right before our set time a nasty storm rolled through the venue tearing up trees, ripping off part of the stage roof and knocking down power lines. Unfortunately TTD had to be on the road early the next morning and we couldn't stay around to play on Saturday. We're super sorry for any fans/friends that were disappointed so hopefully some of you will come back next summer and we can try it again!!! CHEERZ!!!"

The well respected Italian Metal label, Cruz Del Sur Music which was one of the sponsors of WOM Fest V Open Air released Twisted Tower Dire's highly praised 5th full length album, "Make it Dark" in 2011.

TWISTED TOWER DIRE: Virginia Power Metallers To Headline NC Metalfest

Virginia-based power metal heavyweights TWISTED TOWER DIRE perform as one of the main headliners of the NC Metalfest in Wilson, North Carolina. Scheduled to take place Saturday, October 8th, the full-day affair features three stages, with 30 bands from across the country performing, and showcasing TWISTED TOWER DIRE will headlining the festivities alongside Widow, Blatant Disarray and more.

TWISTED TOWER DIRE features guitarists Scott Waldrop (While Heaven Wept) and Dave Boyd (Volture), bassist Jim Hunter (Revelation, October 31, While Heaven Wept), drummer Mark Stauffer (Krass Judgement), and vocalist Johnny Aune (Viper) now replacing previous singer Tony Taylor, who was tragically killed in a motorcycle accident in February 2010.

TWISTED TOWER DIRE: Fifth Album Set For May Release Via Cruz Del Sur Music

Virginia-based classic metal outfit TWISTED TOWER DIRE have completed their fifth full-length album, Make It Dark, which is set for North American release by Italy's Cruz Del Sur Music on May 3, 2011.

TWISTED TOWER DIRE’s name has been synonymous with uncompromising classic heavy metal since its inception in 1995. Formed out of "a stubborn hatred for the '90s anti-metal culture," the band have always been able to maintain a respectable profile, not following transitory trends but keeping true to their original metal beliefs.

After their 2007 release Netherworlds, TWISTED TOWER DIRE took a short break which included the entry of new singer Johnny Aune (Viper) replacing Tony Taylor, who was tragically killed in a motorcycle accident on February 6th, 2010. Rounding out the current lineup is bassist Jim Hunter (Revelation, October 31, While Heaven Wept), drummer Mark Stauffer (Krass Judgement) and guitarists Scott Waldrop (While Heaven Wept) and Dave Boyd (Volture).

In terms of songwriting, TWISTED TOWER DIRE's fifth full-length Make It Dark represents probably the most mature album the band has written to date. With a direct approach, the band has been able to write a very compact-sounding release, made of some immediate hit songs as well as others marked with more traditional TTD taste. Make It Dark is the sum of those elements which are the pillars of rock/metal music in general and that are so greatly expressed by the band in this release: guitar and vocal melodies above the standards, catchy refrains and most important of all, the feeling that each and every one of these songs bears the potential to become a new metal classic! Strengthened by Chris Salamone’s (While Heaven Wept) post-studio work, and features cover art by UK artist Martin Hanford (Slough Feg, Bal Sagoth, Warhammer).

TTD have confirmed their next live appearance on May 20th in Raleigh, North Carolina, and will be announcing more live actions over the coming months in support of the new album.
