THE ROTTED Releases New Video “Surrounded By Skulls”

THE ROTTED have released their video for “Surrounded By Skulls”. The track is taken from the band’s latest album Ad Nauseam, which was released last year via Candlelight Records. The video clip can be seen below.

UK D-beat Death Metallers The Rotted have released a digital single for 'Apathy In The UK' which also features a bonus Motorhead cover.

'Apathy In The UK' is a stand alone track on the new album and different from what we've done before. We chose it as the single because it is a FUCK YOU to all the scencesters, youtube warriors, corporate venues and illegal downloaders that having been ruining metal for the last few years. The music is a brutal and catchy piece of old school UK Grind and the the lyrics talk about what makes Metal great! The gigs and festivals, DIY fanzines, good bands, decent venues and we even reference some '90s London Metal clubs like 'Braindead' and 'The Devils Church'. The places that Dissection, At The Gates, Anathema, Cradle Of Filth, Primordial, Akercocke and Bal Sagoth played some of their first UK shows and where we as musicians first cut our teeth.

Ben's lyrics say it better than I can... "Death Metal, Black Metal, Thrash or Punk, Hardcore, Grindcore, Doom or Sludge, To us it was one, DIY was law, It was the underground, And we supported it proud!"

In an ideal world we would have loved to release this on coloured vinyl, or limited edition gatefold sleeve or flexi disc but sadly those days are gone. Our label did that thing where they hold their hand in the air and rub their thumb against their index and middle finger, which we've been told is management speak for "too expensive". So its gonna be digital only, but there is exclusive artwork to download and not only do you get the cost of the single knocked off the album when its released you also get our cover of Motorhead's 'Iron Fist' (taken from the Anarchogram EP) for free too!

'Apathy In the UK' is a call to arms, it's for everyone out there that wants to keep Metal alive! Get off Youtubby, Faceache and Myspazz. Go to a gig, have a beer with the bands, start a fanzine, pick up a guitar and write the heaviest riff anyone has ever heard, buy a CD or piece of Vinyl and support the artists and most importantly wear your metal shirt with pride or get the fuck out of the metal scene!

THE ROTTED - Hear singer Ben go through all the songs from the album 'Ad Nauseam' Track-By-Track

In true heavy metal style the album will be unleashed this Halloween (31st October 2011) by Candlelight Records The Rotted play Old School D-Beat Death Metal. Dark nihilistic lyrics are spat out over a wall of heavy as hell and fast as fuck music, just like your mother use to disapprove of. The Rotted are the soundtrack for the end of days.

In early 2008 The Rotted rose from two already dead UK bands. Vocalist Ben McCrow and guitarist Tim Carley, the two main men behind Death Grind legends Gorerotted were joined by bass player Reverend Trudgill and drummer Nate Gould, both previously of Blackened Murder Metal loonies Screamin' Daemon. The debut album 'Get Dead Or Die Trying' (Metal Blade Records) hit stores in July of the same year. Produced by Russ Russell (Evile, Napalm Death, Dimmu Borgir, Lock-Up) and engineered by James Dunkley (Blaze Bailey, Crowbar), 'Get Dead…' has received fantastic reviews across the Metal press. Two years of intense UK and European touring followed the album release with festival highlights including Wacken Open Air 2008, Summer Breeze 2008, Dynamo 2008, Elsrock 2008, Vlamrock 2008, Bloodstock 2009, Hammerfest 2009, Headbangers festival 2009 and Hellfire festival 2009.

In 2009 a video was shot for the album track 'Nothin' But A Nosebleed' and has been a regular fixture on Scuzz TV and other channels. July 2010 saw The Rotted back in the studio with James Dunkley and the band releasing 'Anarchogram', a self-funded, self-released EP on their own label Anarchogram Industries. 'Anarchogram' features 2 new songs and 4 bonus cover versions. Each member of The Rotted chose a track to cover that inspired them to play Extreme Metal.

More intense touring followed the release of 'Anarchogram', the most recent being a hugely successful 27 date European tour with old school Swedish Death Metallers Grave and USA Grinders Misery Index. The tour kicked off during November 2010 and took The Rotted to every corner of mainland Europe. The Rotted also took park in a joint headline UK tour with Relapse artists Man Must Die in July 2010 and one off UK shows with Napalm Death, Bolt Thrower and Onslaught during Spring and Summer 2010. December 2010 saw The Rotted hit the UK again for a run of headline shows as well as jetting out to Israel to headline shows in Tel-Aviv, Jerusalem and Haifa.

January and February 2011 will saw The Rotted enter Parlour Studio with Russ Russell once again at the producers helm to record their second full length album. For fans of Napalm Death, Entombed, Wolfbrigade, Motorhead, Terrorizer, Dismember, Impaled Nazarene, Marduk, Discharge, GBH, Celtic Frost, Black Sabbath, Cro-Mags, Agnostic Front.
