12th of May 1998
Jake and Freddy decided to start a band on the way to a Metal Festival. Some of their friends from Jake's Death Metal band Vapid joined them. Nostradameus is born! Set up: Jake guitar, Freddy Bass & Vocals, Gustav Drums & Erik guitar First demo recorded 5/6th of December 1998
1999
Nostradameus signed a deal with AFM-Records. Enters the studio "Gain Productions" in December to record "Words Of Nostradameus" After waiting for five months to get Mikko Karmila for the mix in Finnvox the album was ready to be released.
2000
"Words Of Nostradameus" is released. Gustav & Erik decide to leave the band, Freddy decides to let someone else handle the bass and just handle the vocals. Jesse replaces Gustav on the drums, Michael takes the guitar from Erik & Thomas joins the band as the new bass player.
May 2001
Nostradameus enters "Gain Productions" once again, this time to record "The Prophet Of Evil" and once again they turned to "Finnvox" and Mikko Karmila for the mix. The album was released in August 2001. Jesse leaves the band mid June to be replaced by Esko just in time for their gig at Wacken Open Air & Göteborgskalaset in August. November 2ndNostradameus went on a six weeks long European tour with label mates Edguy that lasted until December 8th
2002
During summer 2002 Nostradameus started the recordings of their third album "Third Prophecy" at "Keg House Studio" and by September Fredrik Nordström at "Studio Fredman" was finished with the mix.
January 2003
The year started of really good with the release of "Third Prophecy" and a European Tour supporting Hammerfall & label mates Masterplan for almost four weeks. After the tour 2003Nostradameus wrote all the songs for the album ”Hellbound”and decided to try a new studio for the recordings. This time the choice fell on Roasting House in Malmoe, Sweden. Hellbound was produced, mixed & mastered by Anders ”Theo” Theander in November & December 2003, but the record company decided to wait with the release until the autumn 2004.
2004
Nostradameus fourth album "Hellbound" was released late 2004
2005
2005 was a lost year due to different circumstances but some of the songs for "Pathway"was made this year.
2006
For ”Pathway” Nostradameus choose to stay in Malmoe and Roasting House once again. This time with Pontus Lindmark engineering, the recording process started 15th of May and lasted until September the1st. It was a quite messy recording when we had to find one week here and one week there when we had the time to record, the only time we were in the studio together (at least three of us) was when it was time for the mix, and during the recording process Michael Åberg and the band decided to go parted ways. Michael played the solos that were planned for him and Jake had to play all other guitars. And somewhere in that mess we found our new guitar player Lennart Specht.
2007
The year started with the release of "Pathway" in mid January and continued with the Jon Oliva’s Pain European tour the spring 2007. Nostradameus also managed to do a small headliner tour in Romania in May and after that the work with album number six started.
2008
All songs for album number six are finished and ready to be recorded, at this point the title is not set.
To be continued...
