dArK aRt oF sWaRtStIkA just uploaded a new video called "tHeY fEed At DaWn".
Take a look at the dark side of these creators of magic lost in northwest.
sWarTsTiKa started in 2010 by Rudie Swart also known as (nEmEsIsSix). They live in a very small and unknown city in the north west of South Africa where Metal and real Metal heads are almost unheard of. This made starting a band very difficult but with no desire to give up he started his solo project called SwArTsTiKa and soon realized he has created a sound very different from any other. Inspired and influenced by great bands like Bathory, Bursum, Drudkh, Mayhem, Wardruna, Varg etc. nEmEsiSsiX set out to great his own style of Black Metal and Ambient Metal combined. not wanting to copy any of the bands he got his inspiration from he knew that it´s going to be very important to create his very own style and through home recordings and self editing his has done just that.
The two things SwArTsTiKa love's equally is Metal & Art and together with the help from BuNnyCoRpsE they started DaRk aRt oF sWaRtsTiKa. Their main goal was and is to combine the two art forms to become one and in this way giving the people a different prospective on black metal. The addition ofBuNnycOrPsE really gave their art a different dimension and together they really came up with some wonderful work. Not having a vocalist sWaRtStIka had to find different ways in which to tell their dark stories and started to experiment with different "techniques" and sound effects which really worked out well in the end and things just progressed from there.
Towards the end of 2010 the SwArTsTiKa lineup changed with the addition of two band members "Ash Strange & BunnyCorpse", and things certainly changed since then. Now they added a keyboard and violin to their sound which does make a huge difference. The first song of the new lineup produced together was xOrCiSm oF uS which tells a very disturbing tale, no lyrics were needed for this since the dark but beautiful piano parts does it all. Two of our very first songs "kiLleD Or bE kIlLeD & bLoOdrEiGns" were recorded with lyrics with help from our friend "Chave Archer" who is also in an up and coming band called "Brutalisme" which turned out great. They are and for the most part will stay instrumental orientated since that is what they love to do and where our passion lays.
sWaRtsTiKa is not signed to any label and will they stick to home recordings for now, having complete control of our music is very important to us. We are still very new in the music business and still very experimental, besides creating music doesn’t stops at playing our instruments but the creative part thereafter is usually where most of the magic starts and comes from for us. They don’t have the need to belong to any record company yet since they have proud of themselves in what they do and how their music is presented to the world.
