Coming off a fall tour that saw them lay waste to the Midwestern section of the US, THE HORDE guitarist Tim Matthews has issued the following recap of their experience on the road.
"THE HORDE had a blast pillaging every fucking village we could during our tour of the Midwest. Shit was destroyed, the women fondled and the decibels of our stacks were heard for miles! We look forward to more touring next year when we visit both coasts! Thanks to all of the bands we shared the battlefield with and also to all of the people that put us up for the night. We will be back..."
THE HORDE was on the road in support of their most recent release, Thy Blackened Reign, out now on Stormspell Records. Praised for its "aggressive, yet epic music..." by TheMetalReview.com, Thy Blackened Reign combines monstrous groove with fierce Viking Thrash for a sound that's both destructive and impossible to resist. Plans for a more extended 2012 tour are being detailed currently, but in the meantime, the band has hooked up with Origin Media Productions to shoot a video for the song, "Odin's Blood." Described as "Metal as fuck!" by Matthews, the video is slated to be released before the end of the year.
THE HORDE was formed in 2006 and released their debut album From Empire to Ashes via
Scenester Credential Records in June of 2008. Their new album was engineered, mixed and
mastered by John Hopkins and John Svec at Minstrel Studios in Iowa City, IA using old school technology married with new school production values.
