Obolus - Lament EP: Pre-Sale

Album art by  Bryan Proteau. Please visit his website

A couple of weeks ago, The Flenser put Obolus' new EP “Lament” up for free download on their bandcamp. They have offered a ton of free downloads and now are getting ready to offer the album in physical form.

Up for preorder now is the Obolus' "Lament" in the form of a 10inch EP

Five tracks of misanthropic ritualistic blackness mixed with melancholic guitars laid to rest in vinyl. You can order it here.

The album comes in a heavy jacket with black art on the outside and a flood of black on the inside; the inner sleeve is black and it comes with a blackened insert. Artwork by Natvres Mortes Illvstration.

500 units total.
100 on grey and black A side/B side vinyl.
400 on black vinyl.

These should arrive early March.

For now, you can continue to download Lament for free here.

This is the mysterious black metal band's second release and expands upon the gazed-out harshness of their debut demo.

The 2011 Obolus demo was previously released by Sunyata Recordings and will be reissued by the Bay Area label Merz Tapes. That recording demonstrates a supreme balance of harsh 90’s black metal and somber California depressive gaze. The release deservingly rounded out a number of year-end lists.

If you enjoy this recording please buy the vinyl. The free download link will be removed once the physical release is available.
