ROAR was formed in 2007 as a solo project of the guitarist Mario Cano. After composing a few songs he asked Sergio Kaiser (ex-Spiritual Intervention) for help to programme the drums, so he could record the songs in a totally domestic way. Sergio liked the songs so he started as the vocalist, recorded the vocals, and that turned into the first Roar demo "Seeds of Hate", which was distributed for free during the last months of 2007, and especially during the first edition of the Pounding Metal Fest.
After the demo, the band was made up of bass player Fufi, rhythmic guitarist Nolorch and drummer Chema, which would soon be replaced by Gerardo (ex-Hate in Extrema) because of personal reasons.
In 2010 the band recorded their first EP "Thrash ´till Death... Metal for Life" in VRS studios and it was designed by Juan Romero. Due to some problems during the edition, the EP was not released until 2011 and was presented in multiple concerts and festivals along the country with cult foreign bands like Hirax, Tankard, Destruction, Onslaught, Nocturnal, In Solitude, Cruel Force, Metal Insiquistor... and national best bands like Omission, Agresiva, Steel Horse, Korgull, Insulters, Altar of Sin....
In early 2012, Fufi decided to leave the band for focusing in other projects and was replaced by Percy (Ex-Metal King, Metal Legion). With this line-up they recorded their first album "King of Hell" in Anhell Studios, being recorded and mixed by Angel Muñoz and designed by the renowned illustrator Juanjo Castellano. The album was for sale on May 19, 2012 coinciding with the VI Pounding Metal Fest.
ROAR is pure old school fucking Metal, with influences that can go from the most classical Metal, up to touches of Black Metal, spending for the old Speed Metal and european Thrash Metal, executed with technique and anger, without experimentations or space for any type of modern sound. Metal or death!
