BLACK BREATH Locks Down August West Coast Tour

Following their tour of Australian in April, followed by an East Coast run including a massive set at the fifteenth anniversary of the New England Metal & Hardcore Festival, and most recently West Coast touring alongside the likes of Rotten Sound and more, BLACK BREATH today announces their next run of live confrontations.

Four new cities have been scheduled for BLACK BREATH’s demolition in early August, including Portland, Santa Cruz, Los Angeles and Oakland. The Seattle savages will be flanked by backup provided by Mammoth Grinder on the first three dates and Obliterations on two of them, which end up seeing all three bands taking part in The Power Of The Riff in LA with The Obsessed, Final Conflict, From Ashes Rise, Hirax, M.D.C., Iceburn, Bastard Noise, Early Graves, Dead In The Dirt and a ton of others. The next day in Oakland will see Early Graves and Obliterations jointing once again.

This newest run will be preceded by a hometown gig on July 13th as BLACK BREATH provide direct support for the legendary Autopsy playing their first Seattle gig ever, with additional support from Scolex and Bone Sickness.

Check out pro-filmed footage of BLACK BREATH at NEMHF XV.

As with their acclaimed debut full-length Heavy BreathingBLACK BREATH recorded at God City Studios with Kurt Ballou, and had the finished product mastered by Alan Douches at West West Side

BLACK BREATH: Seattle Savages Go On The Attack With Second LP

Seattle's barbaric wrecking crew BLACK BREATH have completed their second LP and are preparing to fire it point blank into the public's face this March. The forthcoming new platter, dubbed Sentenced to Life, is the highly-anticipated follow-up to the band's raging 2010 debut album, Heavy Breathing, which blew away fans of both hardcore-fueled rock and roll and crushing Swedish death metal internationally.

Now in 2012, BLACK BREATH's neck-snapping Sentenced To Life projects an even more vile, metallic sonic attack than its predecessor, bearing is a bit less rock and roll swagger and a showcasing more full-on crushing rage. The album is a product of furious creativity jammed into a short span of time, written in the seemingly endless Winter after returning from their November 2010 European tour.

Bearing 10 thunderous tracks in under 33 minutes, Sentenced To Life features such smashing BLACK BREATH hits as "Feast of the Damned," "Doomed," "Forced Into Possession," "Home of the Grave" and of course the title anthem "Sentenced to Life." The band once again recorded at God City Studios with Kurt Ballou, and had the finished product mastered by Alan Douches at West West Side. Easily the band's most thunderous recording to date, BLACK BREATH sentence every listener to a life of headbanging after spinning this motherfucker!

Sentenced To Life will burst into stores and distros for public armament in March 2012. A final release date, full track listing, cover art and preview of the new album will be announced in the weeks ahead.

Southern Lord's Newest Signing: BLACK BREATH

Southern Lord Recordings is eager to announce the official signing of Washington's BLACK BREATH. Their riotous Razor To Oblivion MLP is set for re-release on Southern Lord this November 10th, and their debut full-length will see the light of day in early 2010.

BLACK BREATH emerged from dank basements and dive bars in the belly of Bellingham, Washington in 2005. Bored by the region’s apathy towards trenchant and punishing music, they combined elements of punk and metal with doses of the garage rock of their hometown. Their sound is acutely classic without being painfully retro; a ripping blend of Bathory, Celtic Frost, Poison Idea and Discharge.

Following a series of demos and a chain of below the radar tours across the continent, the band relocated to Seattle. Without even unpacking the van, BLACK BREATH churned out the Razor to Oblivion MLP on their own Hot Mass imprint; a four song affair chock full of anger and distortion. 2009 saw the band touring heavily in support of this release, heading a charge across North America with Victims, Rise and Fall, and Trap Them.

With the Northwest winter casting a dreary shadow over Seattle, BLACK BREATH is proud to announce their partnership with Southern Lord Records. The band’s upcoming debut LP was recorded in June 2009 with Kurt Ballou (Converge, Trap Them, Cursed) at GodCity Studios. A much darker beast than previous efforts, the record features equal regiments of Swedish death metal, American heavy metal and sheer blasphemy. Their roadshow will hit the pavement in 2010. The band have a show coming in November with D.R.I., with more to be announced soon.

BLACK BREATH live:

11/27/2009 El Corazon - Seattle, WA w/D.R.I., Countdown to Armageddon
