CENTURIES: Month-Long U.S. Tour To Begin Mid-September

With the release of their debut LP, Taedium Vitae, still fresh -- the album unleashed via Southern Lord on August 6th -- West Palm Beach, Florida's dissonant hardcore/punk outfit CENTURIES this week confirm a pending month-long U.S. tour. CENTURIES will embark on the newly confirmed twenty-eight city assault in Gainesville on September 17th and tackle the first four shows alone as they travel north. They'll then link up with Pittsburgh-based Pray For Teeth in their hometown and both acts will forge on for the next two dozen shows together. Stay tuned as the final unconfirmed venues are locked over the coming days.

CENTURIES just returned home from a cross-continental trip after being flown out to take part in this year's installment of the annual The Power Of The Riff festival alongside From Ashes Rise, The Obsessed, Black Breath, Final Conflict and a ton of others. Immediately upon landing back in Florida the band slammed their home state with two record release shows in Miami and Tampa.

Through nine anthems in just over twenty minutes, CENTURIES unloads a potent brew of punk-fueled dark hardcore, the album surging with tragic melodies, volatile d-beat leanings with an emotive angst-ridden vocal assault on Taedium Vitae, the album recorded with Kris Hillbert at Legitimate Business studios in Greensboro, North Carolina.

CENTURIES: Southern Lord Debut LP Locked For August Release

Ferocious Florida hardcore unit CENTURIES will explode onto the scene this August with their recently completed debut full-length, Taedium Vitae.

Set for release on Southern Lord August 6th, Taedium Vitae was recorded just a few short months ago with Kris Hillbert at Legitimate Business studios in Greensboro, North Carolina; the resulting album a relentless barrage of abrasive, blackened, emotive hardcore played with utmost intensity and a strong sense of urgency. On Taedium Vitae, CENTURIES takes their potent brew of dark hardcore, tragic melodies, volatile d-beat leanings and emotive angst-ridden vocal assault to extreme new levels. They might be young, but they have already gained great reputation in their home state for being one of the most sincere, intense and hardworking bands, carving a bold and assured sound which would lead anyone to believe they have been cutting their teeth for decades already.

CENTURIES: Florida Hardcore Act Signs With Southern Lord Band Touring To SXSW En-Route To Record Debut LP

Southern Lord Recordings welcomes young Florida hardcore act CENTURIES to the label’s ever-morphing extreme roster.

Busting out with an emotive punk-influenced style of hardcore with elements of explosive metalcore and morose d-beat persuasions, CENTURIES should appeal to fans of comparable Southern Lord acts like Baptists, Heartless and Nails, but their overall sound more akin to traditional modern hardcore acts than most any other on the label. Amidst releasing several demo and indie recordings, the band has toured stateside alongside Old Wounds, Pray For Teeth, Homestretch and more, and toured Europe in late 2012 with Poland’s Drip Of Lies. CENTURIES has shared the stage with Gaza, Capitalist Casualties, Weekend Nachos, Skin Like Iron, Fell To Low, Code Orange Kids, Call Of The Void, Heartless, Dead In the Dirt, Full Of Hell, Ceremony, Trash Talk and Bane, has performed at The Fest as well as the Charming Man Records Fest in Germany three times and more, while two of the band’s members also hold rank in local act Dove Swallower.

CENTURIES will travel from West Palm Beach out to take part in this year’s SXSW melee, after which they’ll tour out to Greensboro, North Carolina to record their as-yet-untitled Southern Lord debut with Kris Hilbert at Legitimate Business.
