ABIGOR: SUPREME AND IMMORTAL IS THE ART OF THE DEVIL!

Avantgarde Music has announced an upcoming special release to mark ABIGOR´s 20th year of releasing Satanic Black Metal Art. On this occasion, for the first time since 1998, Silenius contributes the vocals.
The label will release a hand-numbered edition of 500 gatefold cover 7"s. 200 of these will include an additional CD containing the first ever rehearsal with Silenius.
This release wasn´t artificially unearthed  to ´celebrate an anniversary´, like others do these days, but the original material has demanded the form, and urged to be released in the past few years. Now all things conspire to end a cycle and let a new one begin, but more will be revealed soon.

Back in 1997 Abigor recorded ´Supreme Immortal Art´. Ever changing shape, as each release requires a different aesthetic form, the album was planned to turn out as ´majestic´ as possible, contrasting the eerie ´Opus IV´ and the thoroughly traditional ´Apokalypse´. But sadly the powerful basic material was buried under a thick layer of synthetic orchestration and a devastating mix and master, while Silenius´ invocations were loaded with redundant effects. Now this 7" presents the work as it was intended originally, and is based on the 1997 guitar and drum recordings. Silenius layed down new vocals that exceed the performance of old by far, musical arrangements and lyrics were reworked and sharpened.
SOIL OF SOULS on side A, SUPREME AND IMMORTAL (IS THE ART OF THE DEVIL) on side B summarize Abigor´s traditional 90s recordings and the uncompromising standard of their present work.
For the ones who worship the demon of war since 1993, and the ones who need to be taught a lesson in Black Metal history, the first 200 copies hold a CD with Silenius´ first ever rehearsal for the debut album `Verwüstung/Invoke The Dark Age´: 5 songs of raw 4-tracker recordings, the ugly and primitive side of Black Metal resonating from a time long gone, before bad digital computer sounds became the norm in the ´traditional´ or ´cult´ department - lame copies made by those who do not understand why or how early Black Metal was created back in the days.

A circle has closed, and Abigor are currently preparing a statement that will cover their past 20 years and go back even longer in time, their present and the state of the scene including magazines, the internet and disgusting trends, something which will agitate and upset.

ABSU To Join Immortal On Upcoming American Performances

Texas-based, mythological occult metal band, ABSU will join the mighty Immortal on their return to the US for six shows early next year. The dates, announced yesterday, will mark the first live performances for ABSU since the Scion Rock Fest in March of this year; the band completing two headline tours in 2009 to support the release of their sixth studio album, titled Absu.

Drummer/vocalist Proscriptor notes, "We feel extremely privileged to have been invited to participate on Immortal’s All Shall Fall US tour in February 2011. Even though it is only a six-date tour, it’s a colossal one for ABSU to be performing with our former label mates of many years. We had the opportunity to share the stage with Immortal over eight years ago and this will be a very good experience for us."

ABSU came to international prominence with the release of their debut album, Barathrum: V.I.T.R.I.O.L in 1993. After several highly acclaimed albums, the band went on hiatus after the release of their 2001 album, Tara. In 2007, the band announced their return, and released Absu in late February 2009. "Absu is the sound incarnate of a band making the underground amazing again," said Terrorizer. Kerrang! affirms, "Absu is an album that stuns on impact alone…. absolutely devastating."

These upcoming performances will mark the first time that ABSU will appear live as a trio. Proscriptor comments, "I am here to announce that guitarist Aethyris McKay has decided to quit ABSU and has recently relocated to Oslo , Norway to join Pantheon I. Working with Aethyris for the past three years has been a prosperous experience and I have the utmost respect for him as my comrade and a superlative musician. He assisted me in resurrecting the band from its hiatus stage and I truly thank him for helping me recast the spell of “mythological occult metal."

Immortal w/ ABSU U.S. Tour:
2/19/2011 Gramercy Theater - New York, NY
2/20/2011 Sonar - Baltimore, MD
2/21/2011 Mr. Small's Theatre - Pittsburgh, PA
2/22/2011 Bottom Lounge - Chicago, IL
2/24/2011 The Summit Theatre - Denver, CO
2/26/2011 Backstage Live - San Antonio, TX

After completion of the dates with Immortal, ABSU will enter the studio to begin recording their new album, titled Abzu. The recording will be the second of a three-part series. Proscriptor reveals, "this recording will feature our signature sound in maniacal fashion. Now, we’re appending dirtier elements of psychedelia and fusion characteristics. Lyrically, it will descend deeper into Enki’s lower world as well the Enochian Magic(k) System. I can tell you this album will definitely not be a "natural progression" from previous releases, but a feat of metaphysical conquest and murkiness."

Projected track listing of Abzu (in no particular order) is: "Circles Of The Oath," "A Song For Ea," "Skrying In The Spirit Vision," "The Waters – The Denizens," "Warren Of Imhullu," "Earth Ripper," "Ontologically, It Became Time & Space," "Vita Janua Mortis."

IMMORTAL - ARTWORK + TRACK LISTING TO LIVE DVD+CD REVEALED!

Founding figures in the birth and construction of the black metal genre and important figures in the Norwegian scene that later became the topic of mainstream press and film documentaries,IMMORTAL remain one of thee most revered and esteemed black metal bands in all the world.

Many remember the shock in 2003 when - thirteen years into their existence and one year after the band was nominated for an Alarm award for Sons Of Northern Darkness IMMORTAL suddenly announced they would disband.

It was four years into their abrupt retirement when the men in black reconnected with their creative force and announced to their worldwide fan base that IMMORTALwould reunite and return to the stage. Luckily, every moment of IMMORTAL's headlining reunion show at the prestigious Wacken Open Air festival in Germany in 2007 was captured for all future generations of black metal fans to enjoy.

IMMORTAL manager Håkon Grav had this to say about the long-awaited DVD:

"This release has been due many years, but finally we can present IMMORTAL 's first concert DVD. The band paid their dues with hard roadwork during the first decade and then some during their career, but they were hardly given the tools and surroundings worthy of a full-blown video production like this demands. The mighty Wacken Open Air proved to be the perfect partner for us in that sense, and this was truly a special night for both the band and the fans. The band played several great shows on the reunion tour, but the fact that headlining the Black Stage at Wacken would be something spectacular was a given in advance, and now the DVD is here to prove it again. It has taken some time, but good things rarely come easily or quickly. If you were present at the show, I think you will appreciate the possibility to relive the magic, and if you're witnessing the show for the first time within your own four walls, I hope you enjoy it just as much! For those of you coming to Wacken again this year - what can I say but 'Auf Wiedersehen!'

The Seventh Date Of Blashyrkh, the band's first official live DVD & live CD release in the history of their existence, features songs that span IMMORTAL's timeless discography and includes three back-to-back-to-back selections from their most acclaimed release to date. The leather & spikes, the war paint, the bursting pyrotechnics, the essential anthems, Abbath's on-stage acrobatics, and an audience that drew upwards of 70,000 people... the magic's all there, ready to be absorbed into your consciousness.

Take a walk through the mystical Norwegian landscape and witness Abbath, Horgh, and Apollyon as they return to the fabled & mythical kingdom of Blashyrkh, where they are destined to rule for all eternity.

The Seventh Date Of Blashyrkh will be released in Europe on August 6th and in North America on September 14th.
