LORD VOLTURE - Video ‘New Album Photoshoot’ Online

Dutch heavy metallers LORD VOLTURE to release a new video podcast with footage of promo photos they took in September 2013 at a very special location of Westerborkin the northern parts of the Netherlands. The video can be viewed below.

It is a place with lots of history. During World War II the area served as a deportation camp. Nowadays the camp doesn’t exist anymore, but a museum and a monument in memory of the people who suffered and died in the Westerbork transit camp remain. Part of the terrain has been in use for astronomical observation since 1969 and harbours the Westerbork Synthesis Radio Telescope. The impressive site consists of fourteen antennas, each 25 metres in diameter, arranged on a 2.7 km East-Westline.

The photo’s was once again done by the talented hand of Bas Wijers, who was also responsible for our previous photoshoots, the cover artwork for the ‘Beast Of Thunder‘ and ‘Never Cry Wolf‘ albums, and the ‘Minutes To Madness‘ video clip.

Next week LORD VOLTURE will be going on tour in southwestern Germany, co-headlining three shows with prog rockers NICK HELLFORT. In the end of January the band travels to Denmark for another co-headline tour with Danish power metal colleagues SEVEN THORNS.

LORD VOLTURE Finish Recording New Album

Dutch heavy metal band LORD VOLTURE have finished the recordings for their yet untitled, third full-length studio album. The album was recorded at Final Focus Studio Tilburg and Split Second Sound Studio Amsterdam and engineerd by Yuma van Eekelen (Exivious, ex-Pestilence) and Bart Hennephof (Textures). All tracks are now going to Swamp Studio Raamsdonk to be mixed by Stephen van Haestregt (ex-Within Temptation, ex-My Favorite Scar). A release is expected for early 2014.

Frontman David Marcelis about the new album: “We cannot wait to share the new tunes with the world. We’re so proud to have made another album which is 100% LORD VOLTURE, yet renewing in its own way. The compositions are more compact and in-your-face than on our previous records, but at the same time there is more rest and maturity and a better flow. Everything sounds loud, tight and confident, even in the unmixed and uncompressed tracks. Each of us has grown a lot since our last release ‘Never Cry Wolf‘ in 2011, drums, bass, guitars, vocals,.. everthing. If you ask me, this will become an instant-classics-only album!”

In less then two weeks LORD VOLTURE embark on the ‘Wolves In Bohemia‘ tour in Czech Republic, Germany and the Netherlands. More tours and shows are coming up in October, November, December and January for and the Netherlands and also covering France, Spain, Italy, Germany, Czech Republic, Slovakia, Poland, Lithuania, Latvia, Estonia, Denmark and Northern Ireland. The band has announced that they will play live a number of the new album songs alongside classics from the Beast Of Thunderand Never Cry Wolf albums. LORD VOLTURE Begins Recording New Album

Dutch heavy metaller LORD VOLTURE have entered the studio to record their third full-length album for a release in 2014. A short video from the studio can be viewed below.

LORD VOLTURE drummer Frank Wintermans set-up his kit at Split Second Sound studio in Amsterdam and laying down the first tracks for the new album. Next week the recording sessions continue at Final Focus Studio in Tilburg with bass, guitars and vocals.

All recordings are being engineered by Yuma van Eekelen (Exivious, ex Pestilence) and Bart Hennephof (Textures) who also produced LORD VOLTURE‘s preceding albums Beast Of Thunder (2010) and Never Cry Wolf (2011). The whole album should recorded by the end of August and then the tracks will be transferred to Swamp Studio in Raamsdonk where Stephen van Haestregt (ex Within Temptation, My Favorite Scar) will do the mix and mastering.

After the recordings LORD VOLTURE kick-off with the ‘Korgon Over Europe‘ tour in September passing through the Netherlands, Belgium, Germany, Czech Republic, Denmark, France, Northern Ireland and more countries to be announced.
