What they do is not easy to file. Not noise, not metal, not doom, not punk, not rock and roll, even if there’s a little bit af all these genres. Sure it’s not free, nor avant, and definitely not improv. For once, yes, we can really say we can’t file a band.

OvO: Italian Avant-Doom Duo Complete First Official Video

Italian duo OvO have just unleashed their first official video, filmed for the track "Marie," which falls from the band's latest full-length creation of off-kilter and unclassifiable heavy rock, Cor Cordium.Inspired by horror b-movies, the "Marie" video was shot in the belly of Berlin's fetish/bondage performance scene under the supervision of Italian director/filmmaker Mauro Diciocia. Having just returned from an intensive European tour, OvO will continue to book more live dates throughout the rest of the year in support of Cor Cordium, including a trip to the US in the Autumn months.

Released in North America on April 18th via Italian label Supernatural Cat Records, the diverse ten-track opus Cor Cordium is an epitaph to the memory of idolized English Romantic poet and adventurer Percy Shelley. OvO personify their own unique D.I.Y. style of contaminated heavy rock, where noise elements act as breaks between the sonic deconstructive assaults. Cor Cordiumpresents a rational structure hidden under the apparent madness of the compositions. OvO have played over 600 shows since their inception at the turn of the century, their travels having taken them from Europe to Mexico, from America to Israel... so far.

OVO Album Details Announced; Track Available For Streaming

Supernatural Cat Records have signed avant/extreme duo OvO for their upcoming sixth album Cor Cordium, which will be released on April 18th, 2011. To give the public their first taste of the release, UK-based Rock-A-Rolla Magazine is hosting an exclusive stream of "Marie," the third track from Cor Cordium. Check it out here.

 

The diverse, avant/conceptual ten-track opus Cor Cordium -- the title translating to "heart of the hearts" -- is an epitaph to the memory of idolized English Romantic poet and adventurer Percy Shelley. OvO hail from a realm of contaminated heavy rock, where noise elements act as breaks between the sonic deconstructive assaults as displayed on Cor Cordium. The hi-fi recordings captured on the album, for the first time in OvO's history utilizing any sort of overdubs, present a rational structure hidden under the apparent madness of the compositions.

 

Cor Cordium is set for release via Supernatural Cat Records -- the label who've delivered releases from Lento, Morkobot, Incoming Cerebral Overdrive, and most notably, doom trio Ufomammut -- and who also co-handle the duties at Malleus Art Rock Lab.
