SEPTICFLESH announces 'Conquerors of the World' tour!

Greek demons SEPTICFLESH have announced North American gigs! 'Conquerors of the World' tour will watch SEPTICFLESH share the stage with fellow label mates INQUISITION, as well as KRISIUN, MELECHESH and EX DEO. The trip begins on October 12th in Toronto, Canada.

German math metallers WAR FROM A HARLOTS MOUTH recently completed the recording sessions of their upcoming album, entitled "Voyeur". The band filmed themselves in the studio and posted the first webisode online, you can see it in the player below.

"This is the first out of three trailers for our upcoming album on Season of Mist", WFAHM add. "We have received our final mixes and masters, so now things are getting more and more exciting. Each and every trailer will give you a bit of an idea of what to expect from that album, so stay tuned for more!"

"Voyeur" has been scheduled for an October 19th release (November 6th in North America). An exclusive t-shirt with the yet-to-be-unveiled cover artwork of the album will be available on the following summer festivals: Wacken Open Air, Party.San, Summer Breeze.

KHONSU streams new track "The Host"

Season of Mist recently signed Norwegian act KHONSU, S. Gronbech's new project. The band's debut album is entitled "Anomalia" and will hit the stores on August 24th (28th in North America).

Under their former name MERAH, KHONSU already performed at this year's edition of the prestigious Inferno Festival in Oslo. Even without an album out the band from Trondheim was invited on the strength of their demo alone. Their musically and visually impressive performance gained the Norwegians excellent reviews. Now KHONSU reveal their true strength with debut album "Anomalia". Let this sinister blend of rock, metal, and electronic elements enchant you with its epic and desolate atmospheres!

Chile`s cult act UNDERCROFT joins to SOM roster; New Album Sep 21st

Season of Mist welcomed Chile's cult act UNDERCROFT! Led by bassist / vocalist Alvaro Lillo (also of WATAIN fame), the band emerged from the obscurity of the South American underground as early as 1993 with the release of two legendary demos. Five albums and nearly 20 years later, UNDERCROFT will unleash their sixth full-length, called "Ruins of Gomorrah".

"UNDERCROFT is happy to join the of Season of Mist roster ", the band comments. "It is time to continue stronger, with trustfulness and satisfaction to join Season of Mist, knowing that things will be much serious and better handled than ever before, with the conviction of experience and restless work that became our curse over this earth through all this years. The album "Ruins of Gomorrah" produced by Daniel Bergstrand, will hit the stores on September 21st (October 9th in North America) through Season of Mist's Underground Activists division.

Legends "SAINT VITUS" Unleashed New Video "Let Them Fall"

Legends Doom Metallers SAINT VITUS have posted a new promo video clip for the song "Let Them Fall." The track comes off of the newest album "Lillie: F-65" released Apr 27, 2012 through Season Of Mist.

SAINT VITUS are the godfathers of American Doom Metal. Seventeen years after their previous full-length "Die Healing" was released, these legends return with yet another masterpiece. "Lillie: F-65" includes the trademark song writing style so beloved by SAINT VITUS fans: There is the cataclysmic and unmistakable guitar sound of co-founder Dave Chandler full of reverbs, feedbacks, flanger and apocalyptic distortion leading to amazing and magical solos. "Lillie: F-65" is furthermore graced with the deeply resonant vocals of Scott "Wino" Weinrich who returns to record an album with the band for the first time since the glorious "V" (1989) and whom many consider to be the classic SAINT VITUS vocalist. Doom adepts will delight in the honey slow dripping of notes and the sudden energetic outbursts, which are as painfully depressing as sweet. Formed in 1979, SAINT VITUS were largely influenced by BLACK SABBATH, whose song "Saint Vitus Dance" obviously inspired the moniker. Since debut album "Saint Vitus" (1984) these Americans have released six more full-lengths and two EPs that are summarily considered to be classics of their genre. Despite some hiatus and changes over the years SAINT VITUS remained as true icons of Doom. Now the US legends are back and stronger than ever with "Lillie: F-65".

CHAOSTAR's new album will feature a guest appearance by MOONSPELL singer Fernando Ribeiro

CHAOSTAR mastermind Christos Antoniou issued the following update:

"The time has come. CHAOSTAR will enter the Devasoundz studio (ROTTING CHRIST, SEPTICFLESH) on July 1st, for the final recordings of the forthcoming album, which will be released by Season of Mist.

"After months of persisting efforts over the final result, we are pleased to have in our hands the new material which fills us with satisfaction. A risky attempt to combine modern music, ethnic and avant-garde elements with different languages will soon be in your hands."

As previously announced, CHAOSTAR's still untitled new album will feature a guest appearance by MOONSPELL singer Fernando Ribeiro. More surprises to be revealed soon.

IMPERIUM DEKADENZ: Studioreport 01

German black metallers IMPERIUM DEKADENZ are currently hard at work on their upcoming fourth album, which title is yet to be unveiled. Watch a video of the first sessions below!

RAGE NUCLEAIRE signs with SOM

Season of Mist announced the signing of Canadian act RAGE NUCLEAIRE! Formed by ex-CRYPTOPSY vocalist Lord Worm, the black metal act has been working on their debut album "Unrelenting Fucking Hatred" for quite a while and describes it as a "hate-filled blend of melodic black metal and violent industrial."

"If anyone had ever told me that someday I'd be signed to Season of Mist, I'd have laughed at them", guitarist Dark Rage comments. "The point is, being accepted into the SoM family, along with such ungodly notables as ARCKANUM, MAYHEM and DEATHSPELL OMEGA, is like being given a Sith name - it feels great to be part of SoM's evil empire."

Lord Worm states: "The three of us seem to share the same bleak world vision, for one thing, and this shows up very clearly in the compositions. Alvater used to be in the godly Frozen Shadows, and I know he hasn't spent nearly a fraction of his accumulated rage. Dark Rage and I don't do a lot of cretinous smiling, either."

THE CASUALTIES Signs with Season Of Mist

Following a long-lasting policy of openness to various musical genres, Season of Mist  announced the signing of infamous New York City street punks THE CASUALTIES!

The band combine influences from the classic punk sound of GBH, THE EXPLOITED, ENGLISH DOGS, DISCHARGE, UK SUBS with modern extreme sounds and a thrash/crossover edge.

"We are joining the dark forces of Season of Mist!", the band comments. "We're more than honored to bring our blend of hardcore-street-thrash-punk to the battle to keep heavy music alive! We have a new album ready and we will see you all on the road everywhere in the world soon!"

THE CASUALTIES recently completed recording their Season of Mist debut album at Planet Z Studios in Massachusetts, USA with producer Zeuss (MUNICIPAL WASTE, MADBALL, HATEBREED). Full album details will be revealed by SOM in the coming weeks.

In related news THE CASUALTIES will co-headline this summer’s "Tonight We Unite!" tour alongside NEKROMANTIX, DOWN BY LAW, LOWER CLASS BRATS, FLATFOOT 56 and THE SHEDS.

SAINT VITUS Posts New Video "Let Them Fall"

The new video "Let Them Fall" comes off doom metal progenitors SAINT VITUS' new album, "Lillie: F-65", the release  has been scheduled for April 27th via Season Of Mist. Due to "manufacturing issues," the CD wil be released in North America in May 22nd.  

The clip was produced and directed by Michael Panduro of Siegfred Productions for Scion A/V and shot in Copenhagen, Denmark.

SAINT VITUS "Lillie: F-65" in Pre Order!

As previously announced, the long awaited new album of US doom legends SAINT VITUS is entitled "Lillie: F-65" and will hit the stores this spring. Due to manufacturing issues, the North American release date will be announced later. The album has been tentatively scheduled for April 13th in the rest of the world.

In the meantime, the band will release a 7" single for the song "Blessed Night", a number from "Lillie: F-65". The B-side is a live version of classic VITUS tune "Look Behind You", recorded in December 2010 at Z7 in Pratteln, Switzerland.

The "Blessed Night" 7" single is limited to 1000 hand-numbered copies. Pre-order it now!

OSI: Brand New Album Announced! Tracklisting and Album Artwork Revealed "Fire Make Thunder" Audio Medley Now Available!

Fire Make Thunder marks the fourth undertaking for the collaborative duo known as OSI. Formed in 2002 by Jim Matheos (Fates Warning, Arch/Matheos) and Kevin Moore (Chroma Key, former Dream Theater keyboardist), OSI is a long distance partnership, both musicians typically writing and recording alone and sending song ideas back and forth for further elaboration. Written and recorded throughout most of 2011, this latest release once again reflects the eclectic influences of both Matheos and Moore.

Fire Make Thunder is slated for a March 27th release via Metal Blade Records. Today OSI unveils the artwork and the tracklisting for their fourth release.

Returning as the band’s session drummer is Gavin Harrison of Porcupine Tree, this time co-writing one of the tracks with the band. All other instruments and programming were performed by both Matheos and Moore, while vocals and lyrics were handled exclusively by Moore.

All of the recording for Fire Make Thunder, with the exception of drums, was done by Moore and Matheos at each musician’s respective home studio with drums being recorded at Harrison’s home in London. Final overdubs as well as some additional writing/arranging was completed in July 2011 in Jamaica, Iowa, where the band mixed alongside engineer Matt Sepanic at Sound Farm Studio and Recording Environment. Mastering was handled by renowned engineer Roger Siebel. The record was produced by both Moore and Matheos.

This Thursday, January 19th,  will be premiering DRUDKH's song "When the Gods Leave Their Emerald Hails", from forthcoming album "Eternal Turn of the Wheel".


"When the Gods Leave Their Emerald Halls" witnesses Ukrainian Black Metal heroes musically returning to their dark roots. Taken from the album "Eternal Turn of the Wheel", which represents the ancient pagan cycle of the seasons, this track portrays the blue skies and Ukraine's golden fields being harvested. The wheel turns to the twilight of autumn and leaves wither from emerald green to fiery red and blazing yellow gold before crumbling to the black and brown of winter...
