SINGLE BULLET THEORY premieres new video "Edge of Broken"

Bravewords.com has posted the exclusive world premier of the video for "Edge of Broken" from Philly-based metal act SINGLE BULLET THEORY. To check out the video, visit this location. The song is a reworked piece of older material that will appear as a bonus track on the band's forthcoming self-titled album, which the band is set to record this fall upon completion of their upcoming tour with INTO ETERNITY and RIKISHA. Guitarist/vocalist Matt DiFabio had the following to say about "Edge of Broken,"

"This is the song that got the band moving again after an almost three year hiatus. Written about the rise and fall of Single Bullet Theory and the "Never Say Die" approach that I (Matt DiFabio) has toward this band or my musical vision. I personally feel that this is one of the best SBT tracks ever recorded as it exemplifies exactly what this band is made of musically. This track really came to life by the help of Mr. John Ruszin III. Everyone reaches the "Edge of Broken" at one point in their life... Its all about what you do once you get there!"

An MP3 download of"Edge of Broken" is available for $1 at singlebullettheory.bandcamp.com

SINGLE BULLET THEORY Issues Update On Upcoming Tour And New Album

Philadelphia based Metallers Single Bullet Theory have quite a busy next few months ahead of them. In the midst of writing and recording theri next full length offering, The band will be hitting the road in August as part of the "North American Devastation" tour along side Into Eternity and Riksha. Matt DiFabio offers some insight below.

"Well, I have compiled about fourteen songs for the next record and our drummer, Nick (Bunczk) and I have been working on the new material pretty diligently to get a large portion of it ready before we hit the road. It's been pretty refreshing working on arrangements and little extras for each of these songs; I'd say its pretty consistent with the SBT sound. Some may say that that might be considered a little inconsistent considering the vast amount of influences we have and that i am not afraid to wear em on my sleeve.  Regardless, the new record is pretty damn heavy with a good dose of melody thrown in for good measure."

"Working with Nick is a breath of fresh air. His drumming and general musicians ship is completely off the charts so to hear these songs come to life with him behind the kit... well, its really inspiring. Also, for the first time in almost 13 years, there is a collaborative effort for a track. Our guitarist, Joe Brannigan, had some KILLER riffs floating around in his noggin. He came up to the house last week and we were able to get them scratch tracked and compiled into a completely new piece of music. It's very heavy and kinda reminds me of something that would have been done on the Nevermore Dreaming Neon Black record. I have a serious pool of talent to pull from on the next record and I intend to utilize everyone's strengths accordingly.  On the last SBT ,IV, we had a blazing lead guitarist and a great drummer to record with but I knew that we would never have those exact guys live. With this new record I have even more of a blazing lead guitarist in Pat Brose and an even better drummer with Nick Bunczk. What's better yet is that I know we will be able to pull these new songs off live without a hitch."

"Our intention is to come off the "North American Devastation" tour and go immediately into the studio. I don't want to fuck around and lose momentum so the plan is to do a few of the new songs live for the tour and continue getting all the little shit written and prepared for an immediate recording session."

"Regarding who will be putting the new record out.... We officially are no longer with Goomba music. I should have gone with my gut feeling and NOT given the IV record over to them to begin with. I worked really hard (as did John Ruszin) on getting IV to be a pretty massive record and for it to have withered on the vine just does not sit well in any way with me. We shot a video that wasn't worked, we delivered a master that wasn't really promoted. There is no metal radio campaign.... Really a big let down. It's a shame because I  like the guys at Goomba and have been with them for almost ten years if you consider my time with Crash Music, as the labels have the same owner.  Regardless, we have been in negotiations with a label with whom I have had relations with since the mid 90's. I believe that, in hindsight, we should have stuck with the original game plan back before we released IV and went with them then.

"The cover art is already done for the new record and despite it previously being slated as being titled The Divine Ways of Chaos, the record is actually going to be self titled as I feel that this record and this line up really encompasses what SBT really is. We also have a brand new video that we just shot for "Edge of Broken" that will be a bonus song on the next record. "Edge of Broken" is an older, unreleased song that we re-worked and are very happy with."

"Regarding the upcoming tour dates.... I am soooo stoked to get back out on the road again. We haven't REALLY toured since 2005 and our last tour was actually with Into Eternity. For us to get back out there with Tim and Troy (Into Eternity) seven years later; it's really exciting. Into Eternity is one of my favorite bands and I am gonna be honored to share the stage with them again after all this time."

SINGLE BULLET THEORY Announce New Line Up

The following is a statement from SINGLE BULLET THEORY's Matt DiFabio:

"It brings me great pleasure to announce that Single Bullet Theory has added three new members to the group. First and foremost, I would like to say that there is no "line up change" here and everything is fine in the SBT camp regarding all of us getting along. We have not had a permanent drummer since the end of our tour with King Diamond in 2003. Once Johnny Sasso (Route 666 drummer) left the band, we have had a revolving door of temporary drummers live and great guest drummers on our records (Matt Thompson of King Diamond and Acacio Carvalho to name a few). Last year we had announced that Adam Sagan (Into Eternity) would be joining the fold. However, logistically it would be very difficult to arrange for rehearsals and set time aside for weekend shows as Adam lives in Minnesota and we are in Philadelphia.

So with immense excitement I am proud to announce that we have finally landed a permanent drummer thats capable of playing EVERYTHING thats ever been recorded by us. I would like to welcome Mr. Nick Bunczk to the group. Nick is an excellent musician who in addition to crushing behind the kit, he is a drum teacher as well as an accomplished guitarist. Nicks addition to the group will bring a lot of piss and vinegar to the old SBT songs as well as open up a complete "Pandora's Box" for future writing.

On the six string front, we have added Patrick Brose and Joe Brannigan. Both are from the south Jersey band "of wrath and ruin" and both guitarists are awesome. Patrick will be handling 70% of all the leads including re-writing a lot of leads from Route 666. Joe and I (yes we will have three live guitars blazing) will be handling the rhythms as well as bringing the three part harmony into the mix. I have wanted to have three guitars live ever since we toured with "Beyond the Embrace" in 2005. They sounded so fucking heavy live and I thought it was a great idea. This is NOT to say that John Ruszin III has quit SBT. John will be performing live with us on select shows in the Philadelphia area. John will still be a part of the SBT camp and will be involved in the next record. However, John has a REALLY good job and touring isn't an option for him. John is a world class guitarist and a great friend. Iam happy to say he is part of the group.

So there you have it. Single Bullet Theory are now scheduling 2012 dates regionally. This is without a doubt the strongest line up I have had in this group. Rehearsals are going great and the group has never sounded this heavy. We are looking forward to getting out there and supporting our new record IV."

The Story Thus Far...

Drawing inspiration from the refined vehemence of black metal to the classy flair of power metal, the Philly-based quartet Single Bullet Theory formed in 2000. They displayed a strong do-it-yourself ethic from the start, issuing a self-released EP in 2000 and financing five US Tours including tours with Hypocricy, Soilwork and Killswitch Engage. During this time, their self financed EP went on to chart at Number 4 on Metal Radio for three weeks.

After signing with Crash Music is 2003, Single Bullet Theory entered the studio to record their debut CD, Route 666. The album was release in April and received good reviews from the metal community and the video for the song "Murder Machines" received airplay on MTVs Headbangers Ball and Fuse's Uranium. The band also toured with Entombed and King Diamond during this time period.

Behind the Eyes of Hatred (Produced by James Murphy (Testament, Death) followed in August 2004 and On Broken Wings in 2007 for Crash Music.

After some line-up changes Single Bullet Theory, the rejuvenated band has created their strongest release to date, IV. Being described as "a much more musically diverse and more muscular" effort than the band's previous releases, IV features a nine-minute instrumental track called "Auctioneer of Souls". The track features guitar solos from twenty of metal's finest axe-men and is destined to become a heavy metal classic.

IV features new members John Ruszin III (guitar), Jeff Kalber (bass) and Acacio Carvalho (drums). All drum tracks were recorded at Clay Creek Studio in Newark, Delaware with engineer Nick Rotundo. The remainder of the record was recorded at Ruszin's studio in Wenonoh, New Jersey. IV also contains bonus tracks from previous sessions, including a guest performance from Matt Thompson (King Diamond) on a blistering cover of  Death's "Spirit Crusher".
