TEMPLE OF BAAL announce new shows

Hailing from France, blackened death metallers TEMPLE OF BAAL announced a short string of new live appearances in support of "Verses Of Fire" album, released late autumn. On December 14th in Paris, France, the band will join Antaeus andWatain for what will be the group's last show for the year. The event will take place in club Trabendo. In 2014, the quartet will emerge in March at the Speyer Grey Mass Festival (Germany) and later on at Hellfest, on the 21st of June. As of late,TEMPLE OF BAAL announced a new booking deal with Eld Events, who will take care of band's live appearances outside of France. More shows are expected to be announced soon.

Saturday 14 December, club Trabendo (Paris, France) - Watain + Antaeus + Temple Of Baal
Friday 14 March 2014 (Speyer, Germany) - Speyer Grey Mass Festival
Saturday 21 June 2014 (Clisson, France) - Hellfest

"Verses Of Fire's" sound has been carefully manufactured by Andrew Guillotin in Hybreed Studios. Focusing on a more organic side thanks to the use of tube amps and natural drums, the production allows the natural old-school feeling of the band to shine through the whole album. Through ten tracks - lasting about an hour - TEMPLE OF BAAL explores a wide spectre of extreme metal: from raging blast beats and thrashing riffs, through haunted mid tempo vibes, and up to the point of band's primal influence - the sinister sounds of early 90's black/death metal. New album is available in digipack CD, limited double LP and extra limited gold LP (66 copies only).

The full album can be listened here. Follow the band here.

TEMPLE OF BAAL announce new album details

French death/black metallers TEMPLE OF BAAL have announced the details of their 4th full-length album, entitled "Verses Of Fire" (cover below). The release is coming out on October 22nd in Europe and November 12th in North America viaAgonia Records. More news after the jump.

"Verses Of Fire's" sound has been carefully manufactured by Andrew Guillotin in Hybreed Studios. Focusing on a more organic side thanks to the use of tube amps and natural drums, the production allows the natural old-school feeling of the band to shine through the whole album. Through ten tracks - lasting about an hour - TEMPLE OF BAAL explores a wide spectre of extreme metal: from the raging blast beats of "το αστέρι 418", or the furious "Bloodangel", to the thrashing mayhem of"Golden Wings Of Azazel", or "Lord Of The Raging Seas" double bass drum's mid tempo. Eerie, haunting black metal vibes are never neglected though; "The Tenth Aethyr", or the conclusive, 9 minutes epic "Walls Of Fire" bring the band back to their primal influence - the sinister sounds of early 90's black/death metal.

New material will be available as digipack CD, limited double LP and extra limited gold LP (66 copies only).

The band commented: "We've always seen Black Metal as the Sacred Music of the "other side", and this album is Sacred to its very core. All its music and lyrics have been created after long hours of meditation and spiritual works. We are a Temple, a place of worship, and this aspect drips through each and every minute of those Verses Of Fire."

Fans of the band can expect a fine blend between "Lightslaying Rituals"' (sophomore release, 2009) aggression and the last split CD: "The Vision Of Fading Mankind"'s (2011) epic atmospheres.

Track-list:
1. το αστέρι 418

TEMPLE OF BAAL - Lightslaying Rituals

Release Date: 11/27/2009

When it comes to French Black Metal, TEMPLE OF BAAL is often mentioned as an example of integrity and excellence. After two full-lengths, a load of split EPs and strong of a good live reputation, TEMPLE OF BAAL is one of the most respected bands of the French scene.

2009 sees the band releasing its third full-length, Lightslaying Rituals, on Agonia Records. Once again, TEMPLE OF BAAL sets standards of excellence. Blending occult Black Metal atmospheres, Death Metal aggression and intense guitar leads with the darkest aspects of spirituality, Lightslaying Rituals makes a stand against every archetype of power, whether they are of divine or human origin. And once again, TEMPLE OF BAAL has given a tribune to a close relative of the band: Infestuus, of GLORIOR BELLI fame wrote the lyrics of raging hymn Angstgeist together with Amduscias, keeping up with what could now be called a tradition within the Temple.

Strong statements require strong means of expression. Recruiting second guitar player Alastor is an illustration of this will. Together with Antares’s blasting drums and Arkdaemon’s overdriven bass, Amduscias and Alastor produce riffs of the most catchy essence. And from the merciless speed of opener Piercing The Veils Of Slumber to Poisoned Words’ crushing mid tempo, from Dead Cult’s early 90’s Black Metal atmospheres to the sinister Death Metal feeling of Hate Is My Name, TEMPLE OF BAAL have come up with a diversity of dark feelings, unified by Andrew Guillotin’s massive production.
