Necris Dust is a band from Barcelos, Portugal. The band project started on January 2005 with Xavier as guitarist, Sobral playing drums and Barbara on the keys and violin, with the purpose to create music characterized by plenty of melody and heavy riffs, together with a dark and melancholic atmosphere. Each one with their influences: Xavier with a heavier and characteristic sound; Sobral with his compact schemes; and Barbara with melodic chords. They gradually progressed in every way with the aim to create the kind of sound they were looking for. Already with some composed material, the necessity to complete the project urged. It was time to acquire more elements to the existent formation, that nor applied to the music or overwhelmed their own instruments, but also that they deliver themselves emotionally to the mental and musical concept of the project. In March 2005 and after several searches, Elisabete joined the project as their female vocalist, which delivered with body and soul to the project, giving to the same a touch of her classic/melodic vocals to the instrumental. A short time later, in May, Vitor joined the project, bringing a more dark and dramatic ambience. Later, on August 2005, André joined the collective as their second guitarist and integrated very well. Unfortunately, for personal reasons, couldn’t stay, leaving the project 1 month later. Yet, it was needed a bass player, and to fill this space came Chico (also member of Coldfear), on January 2006, which brought a personal touch to all the compositions. So, after the collective started to look complete, they entered on studio, on May 2006, at the “Echo System Studios” in Barcelos, to record their first demo, untitled “Majesty”, with 3 of their compositions. It was recorded, mixed and produced by Bruno “Zorro” Gonçalves (we owe him a lot). After this, live gigs were the next step, and to help performance on stage and also composing new songs Miguel entered the project, as their second guitarist. With this formation, all seemed to be complete and worked very well, for the couple years ahead (concerts, compositions, etc…). But, as everybody knows, it is a very hard task to have the right band scheme and maintain it. Two members had to leave the band, due to personal matters, Barbara (June 2008) and Chico (February 2009). There was time to fulfil those two empty spaces. After a hard work searching the right musicians, on August 2008, Filipe joined the band, playing keys, and quickly found is place. Finally, Ricardo, a friend of long time, (also bass player of the band EyeBlast) came as a bass player and completed the last empty space. Now, we are determined and stronger than ever in the pursuit of our goals. Thanks to everyone who support us and help us to keep this project alive. Await us…
