HeavyHardMetalmania: Artwork From Mike Hrubovcak/Visual Darkness Used In Upcoming Hollywood Movie

"Dream House" is a Universal Pictures/Morgan Creek feature film starring Daniel Craig (James Bond 007 - Casino Royale) and Naomi Watts (King Kong / The Ring) and directed by Jim Sheridan (In America, The Boxer). It's a psychological, supernatural thriller that is currently in production and slated for a 2011 release.

The film will be using an assortment of Death Metal poster artwork from MONSTROSITY vocalist and metal illustrator Mike Hrubovcak of Visualdarkness.Com as background set dressing for a location in the film. There is a young metal couple that share an apartment together and have death metal posters covering their walls. Among Hrubovcak's artwork that will be used in the film are designs for the bands Decrepit Birth, Sinister, Braindrill, Rumpelstiltskin Grinder, Abraxas, Aurora Borealis, Tenderizer, Polterchrist, Azure Emote, Party.San Festival and many others.

Morgan Creek Productions is an American film studio that has released box-office hits like "Exorcist: The beginning", "Battlefield Earth", "Ace Ventura: Pet Detective", "True Romance", "Last of the Mohicans", "Nightbreed", "Freejack". "Young Guns", "Major League" and many more.

I'm an Artist based out of the Philadelphia / NYC area and have been heavily involved in the metal scene musicly and artisticly since 1992.

I currently sing for the bands MONSTROSITY, VILE and ABRAXAS

My artistic release first began with oil painting and airbrush.

Throughout college I started doing more artwork on the computer within Photoshop instead. I found that incorporating several mediums (painting, drawing & photo manipulation) into the computer really allowed me the flexibility to express my visions on a whole new level. Over the years I've had the pleasure of working with many great bands, magazines and record labels worldwide.

I maintain a day-job working as a graphic designer at an Adult Novelty company while doing VISUALDARKNESS® on the side as freelance. My main Interest is doing album cover illustration but I also do graphic design for packaging, advertising, websites and anything else you can think of.
