A new breed of South African music. TERMINATRYX couldn’t find a musical movement catering to their specific taste. In 2002 they set out to create their own by blending their love of hard- & electronic music with that of the moods created by sci-fi / horror / extreme movies + a touch of sexually charged danger to initialize their own dark edged Industrial Metal movement. Since then they have cultivated & sculpted their sound, systematically shaping these unique creations. Besides their debut album & DVD release, they perform live soundtracks to silent horror classics at their HorrorFest film festival. TERMINATRYX live

"Virus" the music video of Cape Town based female-fronted Industrial-Metal band TERMINATRYX. The clip also exists in an extended short film version with more special make-up FX. To be uploaded here.

In July 2010 Flamedrop Productions, in co-operation with Cosmesis Advanced Prosthetic Studio, Visual Impact / Magus, Magic Hour Productions, Furry Wood Productions and Silver Bullet Lighting tackled the grueling task of shooting a combo of the short film "Marked", the Terminatryx "Virus" music video, both flowing from the (werewolf transformation) promo clip made in 2009 for the annual South African HORRORFEST Film Festival - see the original clip here and a teaser of the expanded movie & music video.

Both the extended short film version of Terminatryx "Virus" music video (entitled "Marked"), and short film "imPERFECTION" (feat. on the "Terminatryx / Nosferatu" DVD) will screen at the National Arts Festival's film event (in Grahamstown, Eastern Cape) together with Porselynkas > Thurs 7 July (5pm) & Fri 8 July (5pm).

Sonja

The bulk of this was shot over a single weekend with very little sleep in the middle of the Cape Town winter (with a few pick-up shots in July and October).

The movie was shot on the Canon 5D MKII camera, supplied by Visual Impact / Magus, chosen for its superior quality and user friendly handling -http://www.visuals.tv

Both TERMINATRYX "Virus" and "Marked" made their debut at the 2010 South African HORRORFEST Film Festival over Halloween season, and got the Audience Choice Award, plus Best Special Make-Up FX.
