With much pride and without further ado we would like to announce the first bands for Tongeren Metal Fest, Belgium's newest metalfestival set to take place Saturday 12th of April 2014 at de VELINX in Tongeren.
Our headliner ASPHYX needs no introduction. Since 1987 these death/doom metallers have been crushing stages worldwide and in April they finally return to Belgium. Death, the brutal way!
Also set to make their appearance at Tongeren Metal Fest's first edition are Dutch stoners HERDER and Belgian melodic black metallersSAILLE. More names will be revealed in the near future.

This festival is the follow-up to De Velinx's annual metalfestival 'Metaal Paaskabaal' which featured artists like Hail Of Bullets, Ostrogoth, Gama Bomb, Paul Di'Anno and many others. The Tongeren Metal Festival artwork, created by Dries Gaerdelen, was inspired by the tale of Ambiorix and highlights the festival's macabre mascot.
