BORIS To Release First Official DVD This January

Japan's rock experimentalists BORIS are well-known not only for their epic discography -- as they've unleashed multiple releases to the public every year in countless formats since their formation in the early 90s -- but also for their captivating live performances they're constantly booking, playing live throughout every habitable continent on the planet over the past decade and a half. The next official release from the band will bring fans a bit of both worlds, in the form of the band's first official domestic live DVD from the band!

Set for release via Southern Lord on January 18, 2011, the Live In Japan DVD captures the intriguing power, majesty and unique psychedelia that only BORIS can deliver, and will bring the band's incredible stage act to fans who have never witnessed the band live, as well as diehards who venture out to see the act every chance they get. The footage on this official DVD release was filmed in Tokyo at the final show of the band's 2008 Smile World Tour. Featuring a full set of eleven BORIS originals filmed at Daikanyama Unit, as well as three bonus videos from a set at the Shibuya Club Quattro, this DVD is quite special since BORIS actually play on other continents much more often than in their home country!

BORIS To Spend Their Summer Vacation Deafening North Americans

Japan's most potent psychedelic rock quartet BORIS have just locked down their next North American escapade.

After many previous tours to the continent, superheavy post-doom-rock unit BORIS will return to North America this summer in a major way, storming the continent on a tour that will last from the end of July through the month of August. Kicking off in California, the opening leg of the tour will see the band accompanied by Russian Circles as main support for the first few weeks, and by Red Sparrowes for the second leg, which also winds down in the Golden State at the end of August.

But BORIS will not let a tour die off quietly.... This full tour shall take place in advance of the previously announced appearance by SUNN O))) and BORIS amalgamating to perform as ALTAR -- as heard on their 2006 Altar full-length -- at the third annual All Tomorrow's Parties Festival in beautiful upstate New York, performing alongside Sleep [performing Holy Mountain], Iggy & The Stooges [performing Raw Power], Sonic Youth, Mudhoney, Raekwon, Explosions In The Sky and tons more this Labor Day weekend.

Stay tuned for a forthcoming major announcement regarding several new Boris releases!

"For pure artistic integrity and super heavy bizarre music you really can’t go wrong with Boris. The Japanese doom/stoner/noise band has consistently put out top-notch work that pokes, stretches and even busts through the conceptual walls of heavy music. This time Boris has decided to not only release some kick ass material but to do it through three separate 7” releases." -- Crave
