On Tuesday Serpenth [bass devastator] and Marthyn [drums] fly over to US shores to start the drum recordings on Wednesday. Erik Rutan [Mana studios/ Florida, St. Petersburg] will be at the helm as producer. The recording sessions and mix/mastering process are set for completion by mid October.
Serpenth states: "All right, a new chapter. These are the last days before we hit the Mana studios in Florida. We're all set. The nine sound collages are faster and more aggressive than on the previous album, "BLOOD MAGICK NECROMANCE ".
"The last rehearsals turned out fantastic. We get every arrangement to its highest audial potential. Added alot ofnew haunting and compelling structures/ rhythm parts and tritones intervals: tones that were forbidden by the damn church in middle ages. We're on fire. Expect more shredding, more magick, more of everything. " commented Helmuth.
The release date of chapter #X is pushed back to January 2013 via Nuclear Blast records, worldwide. During the last six day rehearsal sessions the band shot some original visual impressions. Check it out here:

Austria’s dangerously perverted kings of blackend death metal, BELPHEGOR, have uploaded a trailer for the recently completed “Impaled Upon the Tongue of Sathan“ music video to thefollowinglocation. The clip was shot and edited this past October by director Alexander Koenig in Abtenau, Austria. Keeping with the concept of the forthcoming Blood Magick Necromance, album the crew went through over 60 liters of fresh blood within two nights of shooting. Smashing all oppressive morals with anti-Christian sentiment, the band presents a raw look at depraved blood rites which celebrate the liberation of man through death.
Bass devastator Serpenth states: “The clip aims to strip down the viewer's psyche with an onslaught of sadistic sex, musick and magick. The ritual action caught on tape was also inspired in part by the world famous works ofViennese Actionistssuch as Hermann Nitsch and Gunter Brus. Rachael Kozak took over the role of the possessed Sukkubus. As Pro-Domina she was perfect and totally into the role. The blood cut deeper than any drug. The process of such an intense shoot served as a cathartic experience for all involved, making what went on behind the scenes just as important as the final outcome of the visuals.
Expect this ultra shocking piece to be unveiled first week of January. We decided to anchor the clip on Bloody-Disgusting.com, to avoid censorship troubles with moral persecutors.”

30 second preview for the upcoming Belphegor music video 'Impaled Upon The Tongue Of Sathan'. This track comes off the soon to be released 'Blood Magick Necromance' album. out 2011.
Blackened death metallers Belphegor are no strangers to controversial subject matter dealing with sexuality and the occult, as can be seen just by looking at the cover of an album like "Lucifer Incestus." Their new album "Walpurgis Rites - Hexenwahn" continues the themes of witchcraft and keeps up their particular brand of melody infused metal. The disc dropped in the U.S. on October 20th via Nuclear Blast Records, and was accompanied by a new music video for the track "Der Geistertreiber." Belphegor's vocalist Helmuth spoke with me about the new album, video, and the band's tour starting in November 2009.
xFiruath: Let’s start with a brief history of the band for anyone who isn’t familiar with Belphegor.
Helmuth: We started back in 1993. Obviously we have all our old shit and we just try to get better. The most important thing is the music you know, to experiment with the songs. Add in new elements here and there. It’s always important to keep things fresh.
xFiruath: Speaking of experimentation, what is different about your new album “Walpurgis Rites – Hexenwahn” from what we’ve heard before?
Helmuth: I don’t compare the albums, it’s just about the music. Musically there are a lot of melodies and stuff like that. We did some samples to make it more atmospheric. I’m really proud of it.
xFiruath: Is there a specific concept or story behind the songs on the album?
Helmuth: It’s about witches, and as always the devil and sex. All the offensive stuff. All the insanity that followed the ceremonies. The album is full of magic and surrounded by chaos.
xFiruath: I’ve listened through the album a couple of times and I think my favorite track was probably “Enthralled Toxic Sabbath.” Do you have a particular favorite track from “Walpurgis Rites – Hexenwahn?”
Helmuth: I don’t really know if there is one. For me each song has its strong moments, so I can’t really mention one.
xFiruath: Where was the album recorded?
Helmuth: We recorded it in Germany and Austria.
xFiruath: You guys recorded a music video for the track "Der Geistertreiber,” where was that done and how did you feel about the finished product?
Helmuth: We went to a cottage in the mountains for a few days. It was the first time with a professional camera and everything. It’s a good video, it’s really amazing and everything. A great video for a great song.
xFiruath: What do you have going as far as tour dates in the near future?
Helmuth: We tour all the time you know. Starting November we’re going to the U.S. and Mexico. We’ll be touring for a few months.
xFiruath: Which albums do you find yourself listening to lately?
Helmuth: I listen mostly to the old shit. All the good metal.
xFiruath: Is Belphegor the only band you are with right now?
Helmuth: It’s all about Belphegor. No time for other stuff you know.
xFiruath: What bands influenced you when you first started playing music and got into metal?
Helmuth: One of my many influences was Eddie Van Halen and all the good guitarists like Stevie Ray. Yngwie Malmsteen is one of my old influences. I’m very open ended when it comes to music. It’s all about guitar music in my opinion.

BELPHEGOR - Der Geistertreiber
The song was taken from the bands upcoming album Walpurgis Rites – Hexenwahn to be released via Nuclear Blast Records on October 9, 2009 (Europe) and October 20, 2009 (North America).
The video was shot in Abtenau, Austria with director Walter Fanninger.
Lead growler and shredder Helmuth stated:
"The song is about the celebration on the 30th of April, better known as the Walpurgis Nacht, the occult celebrations on the broken mountain. It's the first time that we hired a professional camera team for a BELPHEGOR video, so the result is beyond amazing. We rented a cottage three days high in the mountains in middle of nowhere in the woods. There was nothing around. Just a lot of excess, alcohol, substances etc. Was a great intense time!"
