Dark Descent Records Holding Showcase Festival in October

Dark Descent Records, in association with Parasitic Records and Ash St. PDX, have announced a two-day showcase festival taking place on October 4th and 5th at the Ash St. Saloon in Portland, OR.

The line-up, much like the label's roster, is comprised of some of the best today's underground death metal scene has to offer. Tickets for the showcase are $13 for Friday's show, $15 for Saturday's show and $26 for both and can be purchased at this location.

Lvcifyre Signs To Dark Descent Records

Dark Descent Records has recently inked (in blood) a deal with London blackened death metal band Lvcifyre for the release of their as-of-yet-untitled sophomore full-length, which is due out in early 2013. The band commented:

"We are proud to announce the addition of Lvcifyre to the Dark Descent Records roster. The label will be responsible for releasing Lvcifyre's second full-length opus and follow-up to the seminal debut The Calling Depths.

Dark Descent Records To Release Anguish Full-Length Debut Through the Archdemons Head In Feburary 2012

Uppsala, Sweden-based doom metal outfit Anguish will release their debut full-length album,Through The Archdemons Head, through Dark Descent Records in February 2012, with vinyl treatment coming later in the year. Formed in 2007, Anguish delivers monolithic doom metal influenced by the likes of Candlemass, Pentagram and Black Sabbath. The band released a demo entitled Dawn Of Doom in 2010. A video preview of Through The Archdemons Head can be found at this location. UNCANNY Set To Record New Material

Swedish death metal veterans UNCANNY will enter the studio today (10.14.11) to record two new songs scheduled to be released on an upcoming 7" through Dark Descent Records. These two tracks are the first new material from Uncanny since 1994's Splenium for Nyktophobia album.  Those of you familiar with the band will note that the album for this new material is the same lineup that appeared for a one-off appearance for the release of the Swedish Death Metal book.

Fuckin' Death represented one of death metal's earliest recordings. "Over a quarter of a century after its initial recording, Fuckin' Death is not only one of the most brutal audio tortures of the mid '80s but one of the key ingredients in the early devilish recipe that gave us death fuckin' metal." Death Strike disbanded after 1985's Fuckin' Death demo and Paul Speckmann went on to front the legendary Master. Fuckin' Death was eventually re-released in 1991 on CD and vinyl, with additional tracks penned by Speckmann on the Nuclear Blast label.

The LP reissue contains the original eight tracks offered by the 1991 Nuclear Blast edition. In addition to the LP, a bonus 7" will contain four rehearsal tracks that were released with the reissued CD version by Dark Descent in mid-2011.
