Den Saakaldte Enter Studio To Begin Recording Sophomore Full-Length Album. New Limited Edition Vinyl and Tapes Released

Norwegian Black Metallers DEN SAAKALDTE entered the studio on the 17th February to begin recording their new album.  Titled  "Kapittel II: Faen i Helvete", it will be the band's sophomore full-length album and a follow up to their 2009 debut "All Hail Pessimism".   Commenting on what the fans can expect from the new album, the band said that the material was "diverse, sick, (c)old and grim".  "Kapittel II: Faen i Helvete" will be released on Agonia Records later this year.

Also in February, a double LP gatefold edition of "All Hail Pessimism" is set to appear on Agonia Records in a limited edition of 250 copies.  The first 50 copies will be pressed in deep purple vinyl, with the remaining 200 copies in black.  The band  also recently went "Old School" with two of DEN SAAKALDTE's previous releases appearing on pro-tapes.  The 2008 demo "Øl, Mørke og Depresjon"  was released in a limited edition of 333 copies on the Italian label Bylec-Tum Productions, and the "All Hail Pessimism" album was released on the Inferna Profundus label in a limited quantity of 150.

Formed originally as a one man project in 2006 by guitarist Sykelig, DEN SAAKALDTE recently announce the addition of frontman Einar "Eldur" Thorberg (FORTID, MIDNATTSVREDE, CURSE, ex-THULE)  to the lineup.  Aside from Sykelig on guitars and Eldur on vocals, the lineup also includes Andre Kvebek (PANTHEON I, ex 1349) on guitars, Seidemann (1349, ex-PANTHEON I) on bass, and Tybald (FORTID, ETHEREAL FOREST, HEATHEN DEITY) on drums.

DEN SAAKALDTE's next appearance will be at Revolver in Oslo, Norway, on the 31 May, when they will be presenting the new album.  More information about DEN SAAKALDTE can be found here.

DEN SAAKALDTE to re-release "All Hail Pessimism" and record new album

Norwegian black metallers DEN SAAKALDTE are having a busy schedule ahead. "All Hail Pessimism" - band's debut album - is finally being released by Agonia Records on February 17th, for the first time in LP format. The band is to enter the studio in February as well, for recording their long awaited new album "Kapittel II: Faen i Helvete". Kim+Trine (Darkthrone, Thou Shalt Suffer, Ved Buens Ende, Mayhem) have taken responsibility of the layout and artwork for this new release. The final street date for "Kapittel II: Faen i Helvete" is yet to be announced.

"All Hail Pessimism" will be re-released on 250 limited edition black and coloured Gatefold 2 LP vinyls. First 50 copies come as deep purple vinyl and 200 copies as black vinyl pre-order.

Commented by the band: When Niklas (Shining/vocals) decided no longer to continue with the band, many things passed from our minds…even just dropping the whole damn thing off. After the band discussing and coming to the conclusion that all the members wanted Den Saakaldte to continue being active as a way of artistic expression but also as in a lifestyle attitude for us, we decided that certain things had to be put down and start all over again. Agonia Records that has been following our ways and sharing our ideas on how things should be, gave us the opportunity to built the foundations for Kapittel II: Faen i Helvete on solid ground. We are looking forward to start with the recordings and we are even more excited to hear soundscapes, having now Eldur (also known as Einar Thorberg who is vocalist also in the band Fortíð) as frontman.

"DEN SAAKALDTE" NEW VOCALIST ANNOUNCED

Below you can read the statement from DEN SAAKALDTE to present the new vocalist.

"When Niklas decided to leave DEN SAAKALDTE in order to focus on his main band SHINING, we knew that it would be damn difficult to find someone capable and charismatic like Niklas is.

We think we did well in finding that person…

We are proud to announce that the new vocalist of Den Saakaldte, is no other than Mr Øyvind Hægeland, known for his amazing work with Spiral Architect, Arcturus, Scariot..

Øyvind has already started focusing on lyrics and different weird ideas he wants to express with Den Saakaldte’s music.

Vocals for the new album “Kapittel II:Faen I Helvete” are scheduled to be recorded, autumn 2011 and we are all damn excited about it".

NIKLAS KVARFORTH QUITS BETHLEHEM And DEN SAAKALDTE - "Shining" Continues

The following statement was issued today by SHINING founder and front man Niklas Kvarforth and can be found on the official site of the band Manager Patricia Thomas PR.

“A lot of things have been happening recently with SHINING, and the rapid growth of the band over the last year, and the commitment that SHINING now requires of me has meant that it has become impractical for me to continue working as vocalist with other bands.

This includes my work with BETHLEHEM, who themselves realised that the band could not continue with myself on vocals.  BETHLEHEM is still my all-time favourite band and I wish them all the best for the future.

I will also be quitting as front man for DEN SAAKALDTE.

From now on, therefore, I will only be making occasional guest vocal appearances on albums by other bands, and my priority will be SHINING.  My work with Maniac’s band SKITLIV will not be affected, however, as the vocals and the bulk of the creative work is in his hands.

As always, myself and the band very much appreciate all the support the fans are giving SHINING and their patience in waiting for the release of VII, and there will be some very good news regarding this very shortly”.

DEN SAAKALDTE

Pulverised Records is very pleased to announce the official signing of Norwegian Black Metallers DEN SAAKALDTE!

Consisting of some of Black Metal’s most notorious and prolific musicians and founded by main songwriter / guitarist Sykelig (ex-Gorgoroth session guitar player), DEN SAAKALDTE previously released the monumental debut “Øl, Mørke og Depresjon” (which translates to "Beer, Darkness And Depression”) and also in early 2009 with the remarkably depressive full-length effort “All HailPessimism”, that eventually instituted the band a lot of positive rave reviews and exceptional attention worldwide.|

Comments DEN SAAKALDTE’s founder / guitar player Mikael Sykelig: “We are proud to announce that DEN SAAKALDTE’s new record label is to be Pulverised Records. In our opinion, Pulverised is currently one of the most upcoming labels you can find. They work hard for their bands, and just seeing the names that they have on their roster is enough to know that their goals, and standards, are set very high indeed. We are delighted that our new album will be released on Pulverised, especially at a time when the label is going from strength to strength, and very much look forward to working closely with them.”

Pulverised Records A&R Manager Calvin states: “It was quite a pleasant surprise when the email came in from Mikael, and he was wondering if there would be a possibility of us working together for their new album. DEN SAAKALDTE very quickly established their reputation in the scene in just a period of a few years since their formation, and it was obvious that the band had already became a force to be reckoned with. There was not a single doubt about signing DEN SAAKALDTE and an agreement was worked out almost immediately. We have absolute confidence that the band will outdo themselves and create yet another phenomenal follow-up full-length effort, filled with utter anguish and despondency.”

DEN SAAKALDTE's forthcoming album and first with Pulverised Records, will be entitled as"Kapittel II: Faen i Helvete", scheduled for release Fall of 2010.

DEN SAAKALDTE recently announced a line-up change in the ranks, with drummer Jarle "Uruz" Byberg (ex-Shining, ex-Urgehal) leaving the band. Further details on the replacement of the new drummer will be made soon.

In other DEN SAAKALDTE-related news, the band will be part of the "Skandinavisk Pessimisme Omringer Europa Tour” touring alongside Troll and Sargeist from March 2010 onwards.

DEN SAAKALDTE will also make their appearance in the next year’s edition of the “Kings Of Black Metal Festival 2010” happening on 10th of April 2010 and “Barther Metal Open Air 2010” on 20th of August 2010. Last but not least, the re-release of “Øl, Mørke og Depresjon” on Digipak CD andGatefold LP and also the "All Hail Pessimism” on limited Gatefold Double LP are soon to be released.

DEN SAAKALDTE is:

Mikael Sykelig (ex-Gorgoroth) – Guitars
Niklas “Kvarforth” Olsson (Shining, Skitliv) – Vocals
Tor Risdal "Seidemann" Stavenes (1349, Pantheon I) – Bass
